Ka-Boom!

SmartLab Toys allow kids to explore, create and experiment through hands-on learning.  When I read that info on the SmartLab website, I knew without a doubt that my 9-year-old Science loving son would be all over these toys, and I was right.

smartlabs demo labWe were sent the Demolition Lab: Triple Blast Warehouse ($39.99) to check out, and I saved it for a quiet Sunday morning with the family.  Elijah (9) was thrilled with the opportunity to build.  He’s a big fan of building sets and has to build them start-to-finish when he gets them.

lab5This set is made with cardboard pieces and I couldn’t help but think about building a house of cards when I was little.  Of course, my house of cards didn’t come with a triple-blast-detonator with sounds!

The SmartLab site states that kids build skills like problem solving, strategy, testing and experimentation and I agree.  The thing is, they don’t even realize they’re learning these skills (and also the science of energy, momentum, and gravity) because they’re too busy thinking hard and having fun.  That’s the best way to learn anything, don’t you think?

Look for this and more Demolition Lab toys at SmartLab Toys online.  Shipping is free within the contiguous 48 states for all orders $50 and up – for shipping to Canada you’d need to email them directly as they determine shipping charges on an individual basis.
