I am a huge OPI fan, and have amassed quite the collection over the past few years. OPI feeds this addiction by launching new collections almost as fast as the lacquer dries on my nails from the previous one!
I’ve determined that there are 2 OPI products that you should have in your collection, regardless of what colors are your favorite!
The first is OPI Matte Top Coat! Available in salons this month, it instantly transforms glossy nail lacquer to a matte finish when applied over any OPI hue.
Matte Top Coat provides sealing protection, without shine and protects nails from chipping, making manicures last longer. With a matte, transparent finish, Matte Top Coat is designed to leave nails velvety smooth and creates a touchable texture for an edgy appearance.
“A matte finish can be worn over any OPI nail lacquer shade and should be applied after the base coat and primary coats of color to give nails a unique look,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder VP & Artistic Director. “Using Matte Top Coat to transform any shade in your collection makes it a more versatile and budget-friendly way to embrace the matte trend. Give your favorite lacquers an update with a new finish without altering the color.”
I love this product! I used it recently with Alex By The Books, from the Nicole by OPI Modern Family Collection. It gave the mint green hue an entirely new, edgy, look. I wore it over Easter weekend and it was perfect.
OPI Matte Top Coat is a great product to have in your collection – try it with your favorite OPI lacquers and see how it changes the look of your color instantly! Look for it at professional salons across Canada at $10.95 suggested retail.
My second recommendation is OPI Drip Dry. How I went this long without using this, especially with two daughters who love having their nails painted, is beyond me! I’m so glad I’ve found it now!
OPI Drip Dry will leave your nails dry to the touch within one minute and completely dry in about five. I can’t tell you how immensely helpful this is when doing my nails and especially when painting my girl’s nails. You still have to be careful after that first minute but it enables them to get their nail lacquer somewhat set in that first minute, so that it’s not rubbing off on my couch! I like it because I can paint my nails, put 2 drops on each nail, and go to bed. I don’t have to worry about inadvertently touching the blanket and messing up my nails.
As an added bonus, nourishing ingredients, vitamin E and jojoba oil keep nails in top condition.
Look for OPI Drip Dry at your favorite salon that carries OPI products!
I love OPI nail polish! I am definitely going to have to try the matte finish.
I don’t have an OPI in my collection yet, but perhaps soon! I have spent a lot of money on polish recently, so I need to cut down a bit!
I only have OPI products at home. When I go to the spa, I like to have the same colour at home for touch ups but lately I have been doing my own. I have the top and base coat, nail envy to strengthen and my very fav is 20 Candles on My Cake 🙂 Great post!
The OPI Drip Dry sounds like a dream come true! Thanks for sharing!
Whhhaaaaat! I NEED to try the drip dry! I LOVE painting my nails, but I hate how it takes me out of commission for so long until they dry – I always smudge them because I get impatient! I’d also love to try the matte top coat.
I LOVE OPI – definitely my fave nailpolish brand. By the way, I received my Modern Family collection today – thanks again!!! It’s amazing, can’t wait to try them!
Great to hear! Yes, get the Drip Dry, it shortens that waiting period – I totally know what you mean!
Ooh, I’m going to have to check out the Drip Dry. I’m always smearing my nail polish because I get too impatient.
I need both of these! Thanks for sharing!
I can’t wait to try the drip dry.
I love OPI. its affordable and sleek!!!
I love the sounds of Drip Dry because I’m a busy mom and it needs to dry fast 🙂
The Drip dry is definitely something is could use. Biggest problem I have after doing my nais is touching something before they are dry and messing them up.
I really have to try Opi!!
I agree, with two girls this top coat would be essential for me as well. I’m going to keep my eye open, thank you!
OPI is amazing polish! I may have to try that drip dry though
I have been wanting to try those drying drops. I think Im going to pick them up!
Opi nail envy is a fabulous product as well!
The drip dry sounds fantastic! With a baby boy – I don’t have a lot of time to worry about my nails so anything to help speed up the process is phenom!
I love OPI products, would love to try to the drip dry. It would be great when I do my daughters nails, it might actually dry before they smudge it. lol
BEST….. POLISH…… EVER!!!!!!
OMG I WANT=D
LOVE OPI
I love opi productshope i win summer i comming
I have Never tried OPI but here is hoping I do so =) It sounds like a dream come true. =)
I love love love matte polish and no dry drops, however I do not have these OPI products. They aren’t easy to find.
I’ve never tried OPI products YET 🙂 But hear really great things about it
smeared nail polish – been there, done that.
Must try Drip Dry
I am so buying Drip Dry… as the mum of a 9 month old, I pretty much never have time to actually wait for coats to dry. Thanks for the tips!
these are great! i’ve seen some really creative ideas with the matte
I swear by the drip dry! It’s the best thing ever invented for polish. I use to use the insta dry from Sally Hansen, but the OPI drip dry is better!
The no dry drops are wonderful. I can now get a great manicure without smudging my nails by using the dry drops.
Omg I need the drip dry! I rarely bother painting my fingernails because I ALWAYS smudge it!
I love OPI products 🙂 I have never heard of these two items, but I will be looking into them. Thank you for this post 🙂
I would really like to try the Matte Top Coat! Thanks for the review!
Never tried OPI before. thanks for the review
Isn’t the OPI Drip Dry wonderful? Without it, I always mess up my toes!!
I would love to try the Opi Matte Top Coat as it doubles the possibilities of your polish
Hello, FF&F. I had not known about either of these products until reading your blog. I was unsure if a top coat was needed or recommended for use with OPI nail polishes. FF&F.
Why didn’t I know about Drip Dry before. I am always smearing my polish.
i see them at the salons when we look around at the products and I say to my kids Im gonna win these one day lol
Not sure if I’d like the matte finish, may have to check it out 🙂
I found the OPI drip dry at a salon once and i HAD to try it. I thought it worked great! However I have never been able to find it since 🙁
Never heard of these but they sure sound like something I might have to try
Both of them are so appealing to me.I would love to win them.
The drip dry product sounds really nice!! I hate that tacky feeling after painting my nails and with two active boys who like to get into everything I don’t have a lot of time to wait for them to dry.
The matte topcoat sounds interesting.
i dont ahve these products yet but i think i will have to purchase them!!! they look great!!
Love the Drip Dry. It always seems that someone needs something done just as soon as I get my nails painted. This will help a lot!
Matte top coats aren’t new, so I’m more curious about the Drip Dry
Seriously, the drip dry is the best thing ever.
This would be come in handy, I have a hard time waiting for my nails to dry and sometimes end up doing things before they are completely dry and end up smudging them, I would love to have the drip and dry!
drip dry sounds like an awesome product
My daughter keeps recommending Drip Dry to me so I know it must be a great product.
i really should try this
My daughter would love these!!
Must try the Drip Dry!
The drip dry is great!
I purchased a Matte top coat last week and I love it! Would love to try the drip dry!
I should get some drip dry, I always have to redo at least one nail because I’m impatient and never wait long enough for my polish to dry.
i seriously need to try this..
I really really need the drip dry! I haven’t been able to find the Matte top coat anywhere yet… but I’ve been looking! May just have to order it online!
I’m kind of surprised that OPI is just coming out with a matte topcoat!
I could use a good top coat. Maybe I should try OPI’s.
That matte top coat is so cool its like you have a whole new set of polishes.
My daughter has been looking for the Matte Top Coat for months. It has been available for a long time in the States; she’ll be glad to hear she can now buy it.
I really need to try this.
This is a must have for my nails lately. They’re getting worse the older I get.
love this brand
these sound like great products!
the drip dry sounds awesome! my nails take forever to dry it’s rediculous
i have used another brand’s equivalent of drip dry and it really is a great product. i am not really a fan of the matte finish but my daughter is. OPI is my favorite brand of polish so i would definitely try the drip dry.
Drip Dry looks like my kind of thing
I always without fail ruin my nails before they’re dry, this would be perfect!
The Drip Dry would work perfectly when doing my nieces nails, who like to play barbies right after getting them done.
Drip dry would be awesome for my 4 year ld!
the dry drip is great. i had one revlon that after twenty minutes, it still smeared!
I’ve tried the DrIp Dry – it is a fabulous product!
I want to try the matte topcoat so badly! I purchased a cheaper brand and the results were just shameful!!!
The drip dry looks awesome!
I can’t find either of them locally. I will have to take a trip to the nearest town to see if it is there. I want the Drip Dry so bad!
I can’t wait to try the Drip Dry…can’t dry freshly painted nails fast enough.
I absolutely love the fact that Matte Top Coat provides sealing protection for your nails!!
I will definitely try the drip dry stuff.
need this!
I’m looking forward to trying both these products and will look for them next time I’m shopping.
I think my wife would like both of these products, especially the drip dry one!
I definitely want to try the Drip Dry – I am going to have to look out for it!
With so many giveaways offering the OPI line of nail products I had to just go out and buy some to try..they are awesome. I want the Drip Dry product now..
would love to try these new colors
They both look like awesome products!!
Love OPI products and a good top coat makes it last so much longer. Matte is a nice change
Drip dry sounds so cool! How many times have I messed up my wet nails
I have to try this. If it’s OPI, I know it has to be good.
I would love to try DripDry. it seems that no matter how long I let my nails dry, careful not to knick them, I never let them dry quite enough and I wreck all of my hard work. D’OH!
i would love to try the drip dry
Will definitely be on the look out for the drip dry!
Love the new matte top coat! Very cool 🙂
– Dawn
I love the OPI matte coat!
A friend of mine has recommended the drip dry! must try!
I really have to check these products out. I am so impatient to wait for my polishes to dry!
I would certainly try the drip dry
would love to try these as my last set of salon nails I have had nothing but trouble…. would love to try both….
I could definitely use some drip dry. Those first few minutes are crucial and if I am not as still as a mummy I am almost guaranteed to ruin a nail.
I love a “quick” dry product. I did not know OPI had one, and I must give this one a try!
i hate waiting for polishes to dry. i need to give these a try!
I don’t know if I like the matte look that much, but the quick dry drops look like something that would be very handy. I painted my nails last night, and somehow have little patterns onthe nails on one of my hands, not even sure what I leaned against, but I guess they weren’t as dry as I thought they were!
There are some creative things you can do with a matte coat. I have seen it used with gloss to create simple designs. Would like to try that myself
I love the sound of the Drip Dry product – very handy! I don’t think I’ve seen it in store though!
I’ve never tried OPI but it sounds great. Will have to look for this brand next time I’m out shopping.
I would love to try Drip Dry! I have tried the “instant dry” versions of a few polish brands and they seem to only last a day without excessive chipping. I will keep my eye out for this!
my nails could use a good top coat
these seem like must-haves. a good top coat is so impt – i can’t stand chipped polish. and the OPI drip dry sounds great, plus the set of 2 would make a great gift idea for a good friend.
I have always meant to dry the DripDry. Maybe now I will! It’s a great idea.
would love to try these
