Nicole by OPI, in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, launches 14 new nail lacquers inspired by ABC’s award-winning comedy, Modern Family. The nail line features shades created to capture the show’s colourful personalities, from a classic taupe named after family patriarch Jay, to a sparkly pink hue fitting for toddler Lily.
“Modern Family is not only one of the funniest shows on television, it features a great ensemble cast of rich characters that inspired a range of shades, from pastel hues like sea foam green and periwinkle to brighter colors of cobalt and red-violet,” remarks Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “From studious Alex to bombshell Gloria, to classic (and neurotic) Claire, to flirty Haley, there are shades to represent each of these uniquely fabulous women – and everyone else in the blended family.
Typically I find out about new Nicole by OPI and OPI collections from press releases sent out, but in this case I literally walked past the display at a store, stopped, took three steps backwards, and checked out all the colors and names! I was thrilled that Nicole by OPI partnered with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products to create these lacquers. I adore the colors almost as much as I adore Modern Family.
Are you a fan of the show? I think I have laughed out loud at least once watching every episode I’ve seen over the years. Favorite character? It’s a tough one, but it’s probably Gloria though some of Cam’s antics make the show spectacular! I saw actress Julie Bowen once at the Lion King 3D premiere I attended in Los Angeles in 2011 and it was such a big deal to me then. I wanted to walk up to her and dorkingly (not a word but today it is) profess my love for her comedic talent but I admired her from afar.
Looking at the colors beside the characters they were inspired by, I think Nicole by OPI did a fantastic job! Really, just look at the sparkle fun that’s She’s Lily Something and tell me that doesn’t scream Lily Tucker-Pritchett! Do you have an immediate favorite after looking at the full collection?

Each Sunay during Nutrition month we have been reviewing a nutritional tip and trying to follow that thru the week. First Sunday was 8 glasses of water a day, and we did indeed increase our family level of water intake since. Second Sunday was the value of breakfast for energy and nutrition. This one put more work on us as parents to have ‘big breakfasts’ but we are learning shortcuts so that the kitchen isn’t a wreck before school. And it also gave my 11 year old incentive to look for his own healthy meal before we get ours going. This weekend will be vitamin intake.. Glad it’s nutrition month! The EAt out Eat in contest also looks great and will be looking forward to a great magazine for FREE. Thank you!

Modern family is one of my favorite shows – I have been watching since the first season – Phil has got to be one of my Faves, everything that comes out of his mouth is great, and how Claire puts up with him, because she does love him – I love how Cam can be tough and girly all at once.
