This is my favorite appetizer right now, and I fear if I keep making it I’ll grow sick of it but it hasn’t happened yet! It’s ridiculously easy to make too! You can make as many or as little as you need, but for this recipe let’s go football-game-day-with-friends size.
Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos
Recipe type: Appetizer
Prep time:
Cook time:
Total time:
Serves: 8-10
Ingredients
- 20 whole jalapenos
- 2 eight oz blocks of cream cheese, room temp
- 1 cup shredded old cheddar cheese
- 2 packages bacon (regular sliced, not thick)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Rinse jalapenos and then slice lengthwise, remove seeds/membranes.
- In a bowl, combine cream cheese and shredded cheese until well mixed.
- Stuff each jalapeno-half with a cheese mixture, wrap with a slice of bacon and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, turning on the broiler at the end for a few mins to crisp the bacon if needed.
Notes
You can tame down the jalapeno hotness by letting them sit in a bowl of cold water once halved for 30m, however sometimes that takes away all the heat!
I heard if you close your eyes when eating them, the calories don’t count because you can’t see them. Or…something like that? 😛
Where are you losing the 5 lbs from by the way Lena, your elbow?? #seriously
It’s if you close your eyes and stand on one foot. This recipe looks delicious. I’ll have to try it.
You have to close your eyes and cross your feet… That’s the trick. Helps every time I have a slice of cake!
These are awesome, my daughter made them earlier on in the summer and like you I’m addicted, instead of bacon we use prosciutto, so good 🙂 Had them tonight 🙂
I make a different version of this also. Cream the cheese in the microwave, add chopped cooked bacon to the creamed cream cheese,
the add the fried jalpenos to dip..YUM!!!
Never gets old.
Oh lord those sound good! Thanks for sharing!
omigosh. Pinning this for sure
Oh.EM.GEE. Get in my belly!! These look delicious!
This cracked me up, thanks Candace!
YUMMY!! For a variation (if you like to BBQ), I leave them whole, cut a capital i in one side to empty the seeds, fill with cream cheese (I like the part in your recipe about adding cheddar), wrap with bacon, skewer 3-4 per skewer, brush with bbque sauce of choice and grill.
We made these at camp just the other day and they were ate up in no time flat. So yummy!
That looks super yummy!
oh yum!!
I make mine exactly like this with some additions!
I add a bit of Chipotle Chili Powder in with the cream cheese/cheddar mixture AND I add a topping of brown sugar w/ chipotle chili powder on top before baking!
SOOOOOO GOOD!
i do this but brown some breakfast sausage first and add my cream cheese, then stuff peppers and wrap. they are awesome!

Looks good. My family would love it. I don’t like spicy things, so I’ll have to try the tip to tame down the jalapeno hotness for some for me.
Looks good!
Thanks for the tip on taming the heat…I am not a huge fan of hot things so I’ll definately be trying it out.
so this is happening as soon as i stop typing…

The recipe picture is so colorful. It would be a great appetizer at a party.
Hmm, I wonder what I can replace the jalapenos with
I wish I could tolerate eating jalapenos as this looks yummy!
these are a must make :)) yum
Soooooooooooooo Good~!!!
Not for me. Do not like Jalapenos! But my hubby would love em!
This looks yummy. The jalapenos will give it a nice kick.
I haven’t tried jalapenos before but the recipe seems easy and delicious.
Yum ! I will try this I like Jalapeno poppers but teh deep fried batter isn’t the best for you. Bacon wrapped is better protein is a better choice vs deep fried carbs.
My sister and I finally made your recipe and it was a huge hit…I don’t know what I love more the Jalapeno peppers or the bacon..lol
Wow – I’m coming to your house for dinner – fire up the barbie…
If ya take out the Jalpano this looks amazing

This sure is something my husband would LOVE, LOVE, L O V E
Im not a spicy food person due to health issues but my hubby would LOVE these.
I love spicy but I am the only one who does in my family, however this would be a great appetizer for entertaining.
These look so so so good and quick to make! I never would have thought of making them myself, so my partner thanks you haha
bacon makes everything better
Wow, spicy bacon – that’s a great idea!
These look delish. Useful tip about making the jalapenos more mild – it’s good to know for those who aren’t great with spice/hot peppers.
Don’t think I would like these because I am not a fan of peppers but I will with others who do
Yum! My hubby makes these but without chedder cheese, and puts the jalapeños back together after stuffing them. The bacon holds them together and the cream cheese inside. So good! We’ve also experimented and used jalapeño Philly dip inside instead of regular cream cheese.
anything with bacon is going to be good! Going to try this at the next family dinner
They look really good, great job photographing them!
Thank you!
This I’ve been doing for years, great little snack we make it a lot at the camp. What we do is precook the bacon, crumble it and mix it in with the cream cheese. Which if you like it you can freeze some for later. Spread It on the pepper and top with a thin layer of old cheddar, bake just long enough for the cheese on top to seal the deal! Mmm mmmm mmmm.
OMG these look INCREDIBLE. I know what Appy’s I am making for our gathering tomorrow. Thanks for the share
Yumm! Jalapenos, bacon, and cream cheese…3 of my favourites all rolled into one!
