This fall, I was counting my lucky stars when I called the furniture store I purchased our leather sofas from, concerned that they seemed to be fading in the sun and wondering what to do. The thing is, I bought them 4 years ago, but as it turns out for some odd reason we also purchased a 5 year warranty at the same time (I don’t typically purchase warranty) so we were able to pick out new couches by surprise.
Now, the debate became whether or not to get leather couches again or go for a softer look in our upstairs living room. As my friend Amanda (cough…Natural Mommie) said, her black leather couches were “man couches”. I couldn’t decide if we should stick with the black, modern, man couches or go for microfiber or something else. Amanda went for cream fabric (which she swears she can even get jam out of!) and I went for black leather.
I had to chuckle yesterday when, after feeding my newborn, she spit up formula which apparently went down my back without realizing it and ended up all down the back cushion and seat of my beautiful black leather sofa. I wiped it up, noticed what may or may not have been a booger on another cushion and wiped that up too, and was satisfied with myself right then knowing we definitely made the right decision! 😉
I’m with you — leather rocks for cleaning up kid catastrophes!! Very funny:)
I have always been afraid of leather because of tears. But, I can totally see how nice they must be for cleaning up!
I have a microfiber love seat and a leather couch. I love the leather for spit up, throw up and potty accidents. All of which we’ve had.
Easy to dust too, I love leather furniture!
