The Super Q (Super Quick, Super Quiet, Super Blender)

This is a #BrevilleSponsored post.

About two weeks ago, our garden started sharing its bounty. It seems like it happens overnight, and not after two months of planting, watering and pruning, but when the delicious vegetables and herbs are ready, they’re ready, and it’s time to figure out what to do with them!

I shared a picture on my IG stories of the zucchini that were ready after we returned from a one-week holiday, asking followers what their favorite zucchini recipes were, and got some great suggestions beyond some of our family favorites (muffins, bread and zucchini boats are always an easy go-to here). A few people suggested using zucchini in soup, and a friend shared this recipe for curried zucchini soup. Just in time, I had a brand new product release from Breville to review (I’m a Breville ambassador and receive products throughout the year to review and share with readers).

The Breville Super Q is a commercial quality blender designed for the home kitchen. With the most powerful motor, personal blender attachment and noise suppression technology, the Super Q improves versatility and delivers an advanced texture optimization for smoother & softer textures.

The power is in the motor, of course. The Super Q has the highest possible motor rating (1800 Watt motor) making it commercial grade quality right in your kitchen. AND, the 186mph blade means business!

The Breville Super Q, though good enough for the best professional chefs, is also streamlined to make the home chef comfortable too. With 5 One-Touch programs (Green Smoothie, Smoothie, Soup, Pulse Ice Crush and Frozen Dessert) you know that you’re going to get it right every-time. No over/under blending here! Of course, with 12 Speed Settings as well, you can totally customize your blend to suit your needs. Breville assures users that you can make everything from natural nut butters, nut & bean milks, fresh cocktails, fine milled flour, creamy dips, rich sauces, zesty dressings and freshly ground spices like a boss!

Over the weekend, I tried making a Curried Zucchini Soup for the first time and it was a success! I’ll definitely be making it again to freeze for the fall and winter months – it’s the perfect warm-you-up kind of soup.

Curried Zucchini Soup

Ingredients:
2 Tbsp olive oil1/2 large onion, thinly sliced1 Tbsp curry powdersea salt to taste4 small zucchini, halved and cut into 1 inch pieces (I used 1 large zucchini and didn’t worry about how the pieces looked as long as they were generally the same time)1 container (900ml) chicken stock
Directions:
1. Heat the oil in a large pot. Stir in the onion, and season with curry powder and salt. Cook and stir until onion is tender. Stir in zucchini, and cook until tender. Pour in the chicken stock. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer 20 minutes.
2. Remove soup from heat. Use a hand blender, or transfer in batches to a blender, and blend until almost smooth.

Since I had my brand-new-just-out-of-the-box Breville Super Q Blender ready to go, I opted to blend the soup in it using the Blend function. There is a Soup function on the blender but since I was using the stove to heat the soup, it wasn’t necessary to use that function on the blender since what I was doing was, quite simply, blending! I was still cautious with the amount of cooled-down soup I transferred in batches to the blender, even though I didn’t really have to be – you see, the Breville Super Q Blender has a lid that has vents to relieve pressure and reduce steam build up!

I also noticed how quiet this blender is, thanks to Breville Noise Suppression Technology! The irony is that the quality is such that your blending is done super-fast anyway (no chunks left behind to muddle around with and move to blend again, etc.) that the noise suppression might not even be needed!

Oh! I almost forgot to share two really cool accessories for the Breville Super Q that make it even better. First, the Personal Blender Attachment so you can blend a quick smoothie in the morning without using the big blender jug. This is a nice accessory that comes with the Breville Super Q in the box at no additional charge.

Next, the Vac Q vacuum pump is an accessory product that can be purchased separately (suggested retail price $149.99) for the Breville Super Q Blender. If you’re serious about your green smoothies, dips and soups, this little buddy will improve texture, colors and flavors – that’s pretty cool! Of course, for things like milkshakes and yogurt smoothies, it’s the air bubbles that give it that light fluffy texture so you don’t want to use the Vac Q pump for everything – some foods need the air, some do not.

The Breville Super Q Blender is available now wherever Breville products are sold (some of my favorite places to find Breville are Best Buy and Bed Bath & Beyond) at a suggested retail price of $799.99.

One very lucky follower is going to win a Breville Super Q Blender (ARV $799.99) and Breville Vac Q attachment (ARV $149.99)! That’s a total prize value of $950 and a pretty sweet addition to any kitchen making you look like the blending boss you always knew you were!
