Imagine if you didn’t have to sweep your floors and then mop them. What if you could do it ALL at the same time? BISSELL Canada has a new product that is meant for this very purpose! The Bissell Symphony all in one Vacuum and Steam Mop is the first and only cleaner that will both vacuum and steam your hard floors at once – saving you valuable time! The powerful cyclonic action of the vacuum clears away fine/large debris, and your floors are sanitized with just steam to remove 99.9% of germs and bacteria!
Since my own floors in my condo are in the process of being removed in preparation for new laminate flooring, I offered the chance to try out the Bissell Symphony to my sister who has an entire main-floor of hardwood flooring. Her house is full of activity with an avid football practicing teenager, a busy-body toddler, 2 hair-shedding cats, and a husband. Needless to say this floor gets some major traffic.
When I asked her what she thought of it after her initial use, her response caught me off guard, “Whoever invented this was brilliant!” she announced enthusiastically, and recounted how easy the assembly and preparation was (literally – just add water). The simple to use, lightweight and adjustable features really speak to the well-thought out the design of this product. One of these great features is three ways to clean with the Bissel Symphony. Users can set it to vacuum only, steam only, or a combination of vacuuming and steam at once.
With two shedding cats in the house, my sister greatly appreciated that the vacuum/steam feature allowed her to truly clean the floor by removing all the cat hair without simply kicking it up into the air as a broom & dustpan would – only to have it resettle again. I know my sister and I both appreciate the fact that the Bissel Symphony is chemical free and offers reusable/machine washable microfiber pads rather than having to pay for constant replacement throw away pads.
With its sleek/slender design there is no worry about lugging around a large vacuum and a steam cleaner. Instead the Bissell Symphony stores away easily and makes it easy to quickly freshen up floors before company, or as a quick clean up at the end of the day. I had to laugh at my sister when she commented that her floors will always look clean now since using the Bissell Symphony is actually fun!
While the price point at $229 may throw some off, there are huge savings in having a 2-in-1 product that will both vacuum and sanitize hard surfaces. Add in that fact that no extra chemical cleaner is needed, the microfiber pads are machine washable and it is compact for easy storage.
Currently the Bissell Symphony is only available for purchase online in Canada, but will be available in stores in September. By the sounds of it, I might have a fight on my hands to get the Bissell Symphony back once my floors are finished.

This would be fabulous to own as I have both hardwood and carpeted floors in my house. With a Golden Retriever in the house- sometimes the lines get blurred about what belongs inside and what belongs outside– this would help clean up the messes he brings in for sure!

Oh… the hardwood floor debate! I remember when we bought our home 6 years ago, it was wall to wall green shag carpeting and I was so excited when we ripped it out and installed hardwoods. It looked so beautiful and stunning and I cringed at the thought of scratching it. Thankfully, my Husband was the first to dent it with a screw driver lol! Well, those days of washing it on my hands and knees have grown old are long gone and I’m desperately looking for something to help my clean my floors that is gentle yet effective.
