Fabulous Frugal Finds

The Mommy of All Baby Events at Loblaws Oct 10-24

mommy of all baby events loblawsI love when stores truly cater to moms and families. It’s one thing to sell and promote family products, but if you’re struggling to push your cart down the aisle of that store (as a friend recently complained about on Facebook while out shopping in her hometown) or the staff isn’t receptive to you coming in with your toddler, it’s not going to be a mommy-favorite.

The Loblaws family of stores across Canada get this, and this is why I had to share this info with you, should you get the opportunity to stop by a Loblaws store starting tomorrow.

Moms have enough on our plate (excuse the pun) that shopping for groceries needs to be seamless, and hopefully problem free. Better than that, stores need to make the process easier for moms so that we want to come back. To make shopping even more convenient, Loblaw is launching a new program perfect for moms – The Mommy of all Baby Events. From October 10 –24, Loblaw stores will offer fabulous promotions and events from cooking classes, dietitian demos, special sales and fun contests. Check out your local Loblaw store to find out more, or go to themommyofallbabyevents.ca! Also available at Dominion stores in Newfoundland & Labrador only.

Fun right?

How do you make your shopping trips go smoothly?  My friends at P&G Moms and Loblaws offer up these great tips:

1. Check the fridge and make a list of what you need to buy Making a list allows you to target exactly which aisles to visit. No more aimless wandering around the store with you cart – just get in and get out!

2. Make a meal plan By having a weekly meal plan, you know exactly what to buy and how much so that you make fewer trips to the grocery store and don’t waste the food you buy.

3. Bring a friend Time flies when you’re having fun. Schedule a shopping date with a fellow mom and visit the store together! You can take turns shopping and watching the kiddies, or help each other by visiting different parts of the store and grabbing what you need. What a team!

4. Book a regular time with your spouse and find a babysitter While this may not be the most romantic setting, booking a weekly grocery date with your spouse while the kids are with a sitter, friend or family member can help you shop savvy – and helps you spend some time together too.

5. Pick a store that has everything you need Don’t waste time travelling to several stores. Visit a store that sells everything you need – from baby, to food, to clothes for your entire family.

These are great tips and I know I definitely need to streamline my shopping!  I don’t meal plan but I definitely ensure I make a list and like going to stores where I can get everything I need in one stop!

Having The Mommy of All Baby Events happening at my one-stop store just adds to the shopping fun (yes, for me shopping IS fun if I’m out of the house with no kids!)  Click the link to find an event in your area October 10-24!
