It’s The Little Things

When you have a newborn in the house, you truly realize how life is really about the little things.  The house may be chaos, four consecutive hours of sleep would be considered a good rest, yet having your newborn make those oh-so-amazing newborn noises, or wrapping their entire hand around your finger, can stop the world.  A newborn brings us back to basics, back to the simple life, back to what’s really important.

Having friends and family to help and celebrate in the joy of a newborn makes the days easier.  I loved the kind gesture of friends who brought meals and offered babysitting for my older kids after the surprise c-section birth of my youngest daughter.  We were not prepared for a c-section and the healing process after so that definitely threw us for a loop.
