Summer is all about spending time outdoors. Impromptu barbecues are the best and no one wants to be stuck in the kitchen when guests arrive on the deck! Sobey’s is giving Canadians a ton of ideas in the latest issue of Inspired – ways to cut down your time in the kitchen so you can maximize your time outside.
I was given the challenge (more like opportunity!) to cook up a family barbecue meal with a $100 Gift Card from Sobey’s using Sterling Silver premium AAA beef, a selection of Compliments by Sobey’s products and of course recipes and inspiration from Inspired.
I made a Fully Loaded Potato Salad based on the recipe found at Inspired. This delicious recipe calls for Compliments Real Mayonnaise, Sensations by Compliments Original Dijon Mustard, Compliments Fully Smoked Bacon and Compliments Monterey Jack Cheese combined with potatoes and green onions to create this delicious side dish. This was actually the first time I made a potato salad ever and thankfully it was easy!
Along with the delicious Sterling Silver Premium AAA steaks we served our guests, the kids also enjoyed treats like Compliments Fruitee Fizz (the Strawberry Kiwi flavour tastes like cotton candy to me!) and Sensations by Compliments Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookie vanilla ice cream sandwiches.
Perfect weather (the kids took the sprinklers and it was tempting for the rest of us), great guests, and all the food provided by Sobey’s made for an awesome night out on our deck.
1 of my Canadian readers is going to win a Sobey’s $100 Pre-Paid Gift Card to have their own Savour The Summer meal with friends and family!
