Saskatchewan moms, the Saskatoon OutGROW OutPLAY Childrens Consignment Sale is a month away, are you ready??! I signed up right away to be a consignor and am nervous as heck because I have not started tagging my items yet. I had all summer, right?! I am prepared though! I have my tagging gun, cardstock paper from Staples, and I’ve been collecting hangers from various stores and asking friends to save them for me as well. Now, it’s just a matter of entering my items into the awesome inventory system on the site and printing out my tags. The nerd in me is actually pretty excited about this super-organized event.
If you’re a keener and already started pricing and tagging your items, I’m jealous (and a little bit awe-struck), but if you’re like me and need some motivation to get started, here are some great tips to get you on your way.
Tips to Save You Time and Earn You More Money
1. Tell your family, friends and co-workers about our sale. Every time someone consigns and lists you as the referral, you earn $5! 2. The better your items are presented, the faster they will sell and the more CA$H you will make! Moms will not buy clothing that is not freshly laundered nor will we accept them. Snap all snaps, zip all zippers, clean all toys, wipe down strollers, etc. If you are using GENERIC TAGS for clothing…please handwrite the size in the right corner.
3. Do not overprice and lose sales. Follow the 1/3 rule. Always keep in mind that moms…all moms…know their prices and they are looking for a good deal.
4. Volunteers earn more, shop first and SAVE $5 on registration fee! One 3 hour shift earns you 70% and two 3 hour shifts earns you 75%. All two shift volunteers shop the Pre-Sale Extravaganza BEFORE anyone else including one shift volunteers. Shifts are filling up so do not delay picking a shift.
5. BIG Toys FLY out the door! Hose down those big plastic Little Tikes/Step 2/PlaySkool/etc dust collectors/space takers and earn top dollar! We will accept any outdoor toys/wagons/climbers/picnic tables/bikes/etc…even pools cause they make the BEST sandboxes : )
6. Costumes and snowsuits sell FAST…so dig out the ones your kids have outgrown.
7. DVD’s and Video games are in high demand and will increase your cheque substantially because of their high price points! Do NOT let your kid’s or hubby take those video games to EB Games. They ONLY give a store credit and pennies on the $$$ you spent – even the new title your guys have quickly outplayed. Consign them with us!
8. NEW – RE-GIFTING items. NEW items ALWAYS sell. Pull out all those new gifts (bath/spa packs, Christmas gift sets, dishes, small appliances, etc) that you never opened and resell them. Write on your tag “NEW”.

Thanks to this info, I’m going to be pulling out DVDs, Halloween Costumes and some bigger toys the kids don’t really play with anymore. I am so excited to get this stuff out of my house!
