Constructive Playthings Enchanted Fairy Forest

Being part of the Constructive Moms team gives me a unique opportunity to review a variety of different toys from Constructive Playthings throughout the year.

When I choose a toy to review, I try and be fair and pick toys for each of the kids so that they take turns receiving something great from the company.

When I saw the Enchanted Fairy Forest, available exclusively from Constructive Playthings, I couldn’t remember whose turn it was – I just knew we had to have it because Neaveh (3) would flip over it. I was right.

The set comes in 2 boxes – one for the actual Enchanted Fairy Forest and the second box holds all the ponies, fairies and accessories. I set up the forest while Nevaeh ohhhed and ahhed while opening the other box.

Putting together the forest only took a few minutes. The instructions included have drawings of each shape with letters to guide you – however, the actual shapes themselves have no letters on them so I had to basically match the shapes to the ones in the instructions. So, I’m not sure what the letters in the instructions were for – it would have been much easier to build had the shapes had little stickers with the letters on them.

Once the Enchanted Fairy Forest was set up, Nevaeh immediately started imaginary play with the set. She didn’t stop playing with it, the first day we had it, for almost a full hour. That is pretty remarkable for a three and a half year old, especially mine! The solid wood forest-scape is heavy enough so that it doesn’t tip when Nevaeh creates scenes (like a cardboard one would) and the ponies are the same quality as any of her other ones from the toy store.

No, it’s not a frugal purchase to me though I understand that it’s likely because of the quality wood used in the forest-scape and the fact that it comes with so many accessories/toys to use with it.
