Have you SEEN the awesome commercials promoting U by Kotex, a new line of tampons, liners and pads? I’ve got to say, whoever they have working in their marketing department is fantastic! The first time I saw the commercial above, I laughed out loud. For a commercial, not even a sitcom, a commercial to do that says something.
Finally, after years of watching women horseback riding, dancing all night, and doing gymnastics while they supposedly have their period, U by Kotex tells the advertising industry to get real. It’s about time. I grew up watching women be absolutely beautiful and amazing when talking about their period and wondered why the hell I felt like a royal you know what when I had mine. I think the U by Kotex advertising campaign is brilliant for showing girls young and old that they get it. Nothing says you can’t be superwoman when you have your period, but the rest of us would like a bit of realism here.
The newest U by Kotex commercial I saw (for the first time on tv today actually), is called “So Obnoxious” and pokes fun at those “other” commercials where the girl who supposedly has her period is wearing those lovely white pants. Get real! And thanks U by Kotex for finally doing it. I heart you for that.
