This is my first Wordless Wednesday post. I felt I needed to participate to share the sadness that my fellow bloggers are feeling at the loss of Karissa. She touched many of us with her emails and support and some bloggers were fortunate to have met Karissa recently at an event in NYC. The event was for TJ Maxx and she was so excited to have been chosen to go. Months before, when I had been given the same opportunity to go to LA, Karissa was one of the first people I told, literally minutes after getting the email. She was SO excited for me and was eager to hear all the details. That’s who she was. Not envious or snide but happy and supportive and silly. Definitely silly. “Do they need a friend to go with you?”
We had a running joke in emails, a word we used back and forth that would be entirely inappropriate here but silly nonetheless. I think of those conversations and they make me smile. I know she’s happy now.
Some people are taking some time off from their work online, retreating to pause and reflect and simply deal. I considered as much but like our angel Karissa, my blog is my passion and my therapy in a sense. And so, because I know she was such a blogging manaic, I’m going to pick up and continue on because I know that is what she would do too. I will miss her.
