Natura World (closed)

I’m so happy to be able to share this company with my readers. If you or a loved one have never dealt with allergies (and it’s best friend eczema) consider yourself lucky. While I can sleep on regular fabrics, both my husband and my son have allergies and this makes tasks like choosing bedding difficult. I also have a great-nephew (that makes me sound so old) with dust mite allergies so you can imagine how important the sleeping environment can be to people who suffer with these kinds of allergies.
Natura sent us a complete bedding set for my 5 year old son to try out. I am so thoroughly impressed by their products that it’s difficult to explain it all in a short blog post. The first component of the new sleep environment is the Fitted Mattress Pad. Filled with 10oz/yd² Natura Wool™, the mattress pad creates a moisture free, temperature controlled barrier that repels allergens in the mattress itself. Plus, it’s super soft and cozy!

The second component is the 230 thread count 100% cotton percale sheets – they are silky soft and are naturally non-allergenic. Twin sheets can be purchased for $72.00 CDN and the Fitted Mattress Pad can be purchased for $120.00 CDN.

Next, we were treated to Natura’s Dream Mate Pillow which actually feels like a down (feather) filled pillow. The Natura Wool™ lining wicks away moisture for a clean, allergen-free sleep. How cool (literally, because it’s temperature regulating too) is that?! The pillow is naturally dust-mite resistant too. The Dream Mate Pillow, in standard size, can be purchased from Natura for $50.40 CDN.

The final, and our favorite piece of bedding we received is the Classic All Season Comforter. It’s worth noting that prior to this, we used a regular cotton duvet on my son’s bed with poor results. He’d be cold to start the night and then would literally sweat under his blankets because they just were not breathable like they should be.
The Classic All Season Comforter, with 10 oz/yd² Natura Wool fill, regulates body temperature all night, resulting in a better and longer sleep. It also helps wick away moisture which helps repel common allergens. I didn’t find that my son would sweat at all using this comforter but if he did, it’s nice to know that it helps wick away the moisture.

Unlike his old duvet, this comforter is quilted to the fill so it doesn’t bunch at all. This was the one product we received that my husband remarked he wished we had a king sized version of for our bed! The Twin size Classic All Season Comforter can be purchased for $201.60 CDN.

When looking online and in stores for bedding products for my son, the prices did take me by surprise at first. Thinking though, of what I paid for our own King size feather (and dust…and dust mite filled…) duvet, it does seem reasonable to me to pay the same amount for my son’s health and quality of sleep. What price would you pay for a healthy and good night’s sleep for a child with allergies? A product that repels common allergens is of benefit to all family members, especially children.
