What mommy of a child over 2 has not tried the Time Out technique? Parents have been using a variation of this discipline technique for years, and it’s gained further attention in recent years being demonstrated on tv shows like Supernanny. We’re big Time Out fans in this house, and I really do believe it works to curb bad behavior.
One issue we’ve run into in the past is the determination of where exactly the time out spot should be. If it’s a chair, a mischievous child can find many ways to use this chair to their advantage – the creator of Time Out Spots explains on the site that her son simply wal
ked across the room holding onto the stool used for time out, declaring that he was still in time out since his bootie was still attached to it!
