Giveaways and Reviews

Scrubz (closed)

It’s not often that I sit before my computer, ready to write a review, and stare at my screen thinking, “Wow, where do I start?” Today is one of those days. There are so many things I want to tell you about Scrubz and I’m not sure how to convey just how much I love their products and how awesome they are. I suppose that is a start.

Scrubz main products are their line of natural sugar scrubs. I have used salt scrubs in the past (I checked what I had in my bathroom closet to be sure) and wondered what the difference was between a salt and sugar scrub. I actually loved my salt scrub but after trying the Scrubz products I have a new favorite and will be replacing my old ones.

Sugar scrubs help your skin by gently exfoliating dead/old skin cells and stimulating your circulation. The oils in the scrubs help to moisturize your skin and the scent actually stays on your skin throughout the day. When I received my package of products to try from Scrubz, I could smell them before I opened the box!

I received some 4oz jars to try, including a Cotton Candy Scrubblez for my kids complete with a little rubber ducky ontop for bath time, and an 8oz jar of Scrubz in Pomberry Zing scent.

The scents at Scrubz are nicely catagorized. If you like Fruity & Sweet scents like me, you’ll find Pomberry Zing among them. WOW. I loooove this scent! The site describes it as a mixture of cranberries and wild berries. I like that it doesn’t have that usual strawberry-boring berry scent, but instead is tart (that would be where the Zing comes from!) and fresh and to me has a hint of vanilla or candy scent.

Opening the jar of Scrubz, I noticed immediately the difference between this and the salt scrubs from another company I have been using in the past. See, the ones I used before had salt and oil in the jar, so the oil would float to the top and you’d have to mix it up before applying. The jar was more oil than salt. With Scrubz Sugar Scrubs, the jar is filled with sugar (already mixed in with the oils) to the top. There’s no mixing required and it doesn’t appear oily. What you see is a jar filled with scrumptious smelling sugar just waiting to indulge you.

Another difference I noted was that the salt scrub I had been using in the past didn’t do half the job of exfoliating that the Scrubz Sugar Scrubs do!

Looking at the FAQ on the site, I was surprised to read that a 4oz jar of Scrubz should last you 2-4 applications. I guess I have not been using enough of it because at the rate I’m going, a 4oz jar is going to last about 8 applications. I use it on my arms and legs in the shower for exfoliation and the amount I’ve been using has allowed for great coverage and lasting scent afterwards.

Scrubz sugar scrubs can also be used for shaving – once you exfoliate (which helps open your pores and actually lifts the hair follicle) the oils left on your skin act as a shaving moisturizer. We received the Shavez For Men to try.

Scented in manly scents like aquamarine and juniper, your husband won’t feel like he’s using your fruity Scrubz to shave. I asked my husband to try it, no shaving foam or gels allowed, to see how it worked. Being a trooper, he tried it out. He said it was a smooth shave and asked me to feel his face afterwards to see how soft it was. I like that we can actually get our men to exfoliate by telling them to use it to shave (because a man will refuse to ever admit he exfoliates his skin otherwise right?)

The Scrubblez for kids are triple whipped to be a little more gentle for kids. My son thought it was pretty funny to rub the ‘sand’ on his skin (hey, whatever works to convince him to wash!) and wow did mommy ever like the Cotton Candy scent! Scrubblez is also available in Banannaberry Split scent.

Scrubz are sold at vendors in the US and you can also order online of course. There are products I try, enjoy, and won’t likley purchase more of when I run out. Scrubz is a product line that I will continue to keep in my home, especially the Pomberry Zing sugar scrub! The scent is one I can’t get enough of now, but my kid’s Cotton Candy scent is a close second. I just noticed that the Scrubz summer scent, Tropical Delight, has arrived. Looks like an order will have to be placed soon, yum!

Whew! Well, I think that describes for you all how much I love Scrubz products, have I explained it well enough? I sure hope so! The girls at Scrubz have a great giveaway for my readers so you can have a chance to try their products too!
