I would say I’m addicted to my computer. I also have a very good relationship with my cell phone and have recently started dating my iPod and we’re getting very close. Because of my husband’s career, I am far from friends and family, and use all of the aforementioned for communicating with them. With two kids running around, my messages sometimes have to be short and sweet and that is when we enter the world of texting – short codes that say so much! I have most of them figured out but occasionally I’m stumped by something my niece or nephew types and it takes me a bit to figure out what they are trying to say. It seems like the younger generation (ack, did I just say that? When did I become the older generation?) is on top of this sort of thing. It’s no surprise then, that babies would be the next in line to add their own messages to the texting world!
Carla Dickinson, the mom behind
Text Message Baby, created a line of baby clothes featuring text messaging after seeing how much her own twin daughters used the ‘language’ with their friends. The text, graphics, and emoticons are unique and fun, and they are definite conversation starters.
Sizes available are 3-6m, 6-12m and 12-18m.
All Text Message Baby shirts are made with certified organic cotton fibers, and are also both Skal certified and fair-trade products.
We were sent our choice of Text Message Baby onesie to review, and I loved the Stuck In My Highchair design. The color is great – a deep rich red with yellow/gold text. It looks adorable with dark denim jeans or on its own which is Nevaeh’s preferred style. I managed to capture the perfect look on her face, when she wore this onesie while sitting in her highchair.
The onesie itself, besides being extra soft because of the organic cotton, is a good size. 12-18 months will fit her for awhile, and the fabric weight is good for our weather here in Canada (not a flimsy light cotton).
Text Message Baby would love for one of my readers to win their very own onesie! To enter, just go to
Text Message Baby and take a look at their design choices (hats and bibs coming very soon!). Comment here with which text message design you liked the best!
