I first heard about chicBuds right here on Blogger. Before Christmas, a blog was running a contest to win chicBuds. I read the review and knew they would be the coolest accessory to have with my mp3 player. I entered and crossed my fingers and didn’t win! Then the holidays hit and I forgot about my prize-that-never-was.
It was only in the new year that I remembered chicBuds again, and it was because I was on the hunt for an iPod Touch and knew that chicBuds were the only accessory worthy of a new iPod if I found one! My birthday and Valentine’s day are within 2 weeks of eachother (my poor hubby!) and he was disappointed when he couldn’t find the iPod in time for my birthday. In the meantime, I received a pair of chicBids to review but stubbornly refused to try them out on my mp3 player! Yes, I was being an iPod snob and held out!
Valentine’s Day was this past weekend and hubby came through! I am the proud (and spoiled) owner of a new iPod touch and now the chicBuds can come out of the pretty bag they came in and be used! My chicBuds are the new black style, complete of course with genuine Swarovski Crystals.
The instructions for use need to be followed, and I should have paid closer attention to them! The instructions state to pull from both ends of the retractable device. I took that to mean both ends of the earphones. Whoops! Don’t do that, because it will result in a tangled cord (easy to fix but frustrating). Pull from the earphones (both!) on one side and the plug-in side on the other. I would have liked the picture on the site and in the attached instructions that come with the chicBuds to show one hand holding BOTH ear pieces; that might have made it easier to understand.
Then adjust to desired length and voila, you’re ready to rock out!
The clip-feature is brilliant. Instead of having the chicBuds dangling from your ears (and really, something hanging off mom is just asking to be ripped, pulled, or tangled), you can clip the chicBuds onto your shirt keeping everything close.
chicBuds are compatible with iPods, MP3’s, portable cd players (does anyone use these anymore?) and your own computer. They also have a line of products for cell phones called chicBabies.
I can’t wait to get outside this summer with the stroller and go for long walks, listening to my iPod with my blinged out chicBuds. It feels so far away today as I look out my window and it’s snowing…again! In the meantime I can attempt to take a moment to myself to listen to music and play with my new present, but more often than not, this is the result when I try and sneak off for a moment alone. I know my mommy readers can relate!
