Little Ruler, a company focused on edgy, cool, and as Access Hollywood called it “skater-chic” clothing for kids was founded in 2004 80’s skateboard pro Jeff Kendall and his wife Maureen. Embraced by celebs like Angelina Jole (quoted as calling it her “favorite fashion line”) and Gwen Stefani, Little Ruler is cool on its own even without the celebrity following.
Something my frugal side appreciates – Little Ruler stays true to their punk roots in their pricing. It wouldn’t make sense to have a company focused on skateboarding promote clothing that is only affordable to parents who drive a Lexus. Short sleeve tees start at $10.95 (no that’s not a typo!) and you can snag a hoodie for as low as $28.95.
My Little Ruler (oh the conversations we have had about who the “boss” of the house is!) was sent a great assortment of items from Little Ruler to check out, just in time for school starting later this month. The Thrasher Magazine shirt was an instant favorite (every 5 year old thinks flames are the coolest…one more reason moms of boys deserve medals…or martinis!)
We also received 2 other short sleeve shirts, both from the Independent Truck Company label. All 3 shirts are sized perfect (we received size M, which is about a 5/6), are super soft (the quality is there, the cotton is so soft and cozy feeling…er…I mean cool). The shirts wash awesome, minimal if any shrinking and they don’t fade.
We also received an Independent Truck Company jacket – light enough for those first few weeks of Fall. I think I embarrassed my son and my husband with my squeals of “Awwwwwe!” when my little guy put on the jacket.
Canadians will be happy to note that Little Ruler ships to them – not only that but the company also ships to 25 other countries as well!
