How often do you eat fish in your household? In ours? Never. As with most foods, if the cook doesn’t like it, it doesn’t end up on the table. I ensure my family gets a great variety of fruits, vegetables, dairy, grains and meat but fish? Uh uh.
My husband loves it though, so often when we’re at a restaurant that’s what he will order. My 6 year old son will taste his dad’s meal from time to time but isn’t a big fan. I don’t want to inflict my dislike of seafood on my son so I’m leaving it up to my husband to establish the seafood palate in my kids (hey, I’m making him take one for the team.)
Still, I know there are some great health benefits to eating fish, so when I hear about alternative ways for my kids to get those benefits, I’m all ears.
Ascenta’s NutraSea is an easy (liquid) and tasty (Very Berry flavor!) way for parents to ensure their kids (2-13) get essential nutrients for development.
One teaspoon (5ml) of NutraSea Kids provides 560 mg of omega-3 fatty acids, with 320 mg EPA, 200 mg DHA and 50 mg of GLA along with 500 IU of vitamin D.
Kids can take the suppliment directly or it can easily be mixed into smoothies, yogurt and more. We gave it to our 6 year old as-is. He said it’s “definitely berry” but had no trouble swallowing it (make sure you refridgerate after opening).
The attractive bottle design and non-fishy taste help ensure your kids will continue to take NutraSea into the busy fall season.
