If I’ve been a little more quiet on the blog these past few weeks, here’s why – my husband, co-conspirator and biggest mommy-blogger fan I have, has been away in Ottawa for the past three weeks. Thankfully, he’s headed home this weekend and I’ve already scheduled a pedicure and massage, make no mistake!
Thinking about the services I use here in Regina to help me whether he’s here or not, I thought it would make a great topic for my regular segment at Global Regina Morning News. If you don’t already know, I visit Global Regina every second Wednesday at 8:20 sharing topics and info for moms across Saskatchewan and, thanks to online streaming, beyond!
Check out the segment here!
Save-On-Foods Grocery Delivery and Pick-Up
I love this service and it has been getting rave reviews around the city. Order your groceries online, schedule delivery to your door for a low fee OR arrange to stop by and pick it up – you don’t even have to get out of your vehicle.
I have tried the delivery service and was thrilled with the result. My delivery driver called me ahead of time to let me know he was on the way, and was so friendly and courteous when he arrived (disclosure: of course my readers know that I have been working to promote Save-On-Foods in the city, but the driver had no idea of this (he actually doesn’t even watch TV, as I excitedly told him our family was in a Save-On-Foods commercial before he left!)
I have read friend’s reactions on Facebook to their own deliveries and everyone has said the same thing – it saved them time, it was easy, and they are thrilled to have this service available in Regina. Your first delivery from Save-On-Foods is free, so definitely give it a try soon.
Zoom Zoom Groom Mobile Grooming
One of the tasks I hate the most is taking our labradoodle in for her grooming. Zoom Zoom Groom has changed that chore for me into a thing of beauty.
Mobile Grooming means they come to you, park in front of your house, and groom your dog while you sit inside with your coffee. It’s also less stressful for everyone involved since your pooch or feline doesn’t have to endure any car rides or be around other pets.
Bricks 4 Kidz
Don’t stress about arranging a kid’s birthday party, hauling the cake, ensuring everyone is there and out on time. Instead have Bricks 4 Kidz in your home, in a rec room or basement, and let them entertain the kids with Lego at a birthday party while you visit with the parents in peace. We did this last year for my daughter’s birthday and had a great experience – the adults visited in the kitchen while the kids were entertained in another room.
Also, something I didn’t mention in the segment but another great feature from Bricks 4 Kidz is Kidz Night Out – a service where parents can get an evening to themselves, while the kids are entertained (there’s pizza too!) I know how hard it is to find babysitters in the city, so this is a great way for parents to get a break and for the kids to have some fun.
In-Home Massage Therapy
Moms always seem to fail to take time for themselves and one of the reasons is because we have a hard time scheduling it in. I love this service from Cory Roy, RMT. Cory will come to your home, even in the evenings when the kids are already in bed. I love this service, but I especially love it in January when I can go right to bed after an not in a cold car.

Looking forward to using save on foods online ordering and delivery service!
I would try save on foods first, we’re still waiting for the one in SAskatoon to be built. My daughter is moving to REgina to live once her schooling is done, so if I did win, the gift cards would go to her. She will stay in the city she is in for a bit yet as she’s supposed to be filming something in June, I think it is.
Massage first — all other things can wait!

Love the new Save On Foods!
Tried Save on Foods – Twice now and I like it. That being said – StupidStore is still cheaper I find. So although I hate it – I will shop there when I have time and no money and use Save-On to treat myself or when I just really don’t feel like shopping.
Would love to use the Brick 4 Kidz for my son’s birthday!
