Did you know that November is Eczema Awareness Month in Canada (October, in the US)? Me neither – it seems like, with so many causes capturing our attention, this one slipped by me. Still, if you’ve ever had a child suffer from horrible eczema you know how important it is for caregivers and family to especially be aware of the causes and how to help treat it with your little one. Until you’ve seen a horrible red and painful rash on a baby, it’s hard to understand the impact eczema can have. Unfortunately, for many adults this holds true as well.
My oldest child, my only boy, is the one who had the worst eczema as a baby. I can recall him playing in the backyard as a toddler with the backs of his knees and folds of his elbows bright red by the end of the day. We had to be so careful with what detergent and bath products we used and that was the first time I was introduced to Aveeno products. We used Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment with him specifically and it helped tremendously. In fact, I can recall the first time my husband and I went away and left him in the care of my parents – a friend had to pick up some Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment and drop it off for them because he had a flare up. Funny the things you remember!

Actually, at my work we do quite a few things for the food bank and one program that they have is a “tiny bundles” program where they collect items for babies. I would give these items to that program
