Summer Infant Stylish&Secure Deluxe Top of Stairs Gate w/ Dual Banister Kit

When we moved into our home 18 months ago, we were a family of 4 with a toddler and school age child. It didn’t occur to me how un-baby-friendly our house was until I was pregnant with Everleigh. Our bath tub in our main bathroom, for example, is a jet tub that is nearly impossible to bathe a baby comfortably in (ow, my back!)The other unfriendly baby area is the top of the stairs leading down to the front landing. There’s metal banisters on either side. Metal! In our previous houses we’ve just drilled into the wall to secure baby gates at the top of the stairs, but I was reluctant to drill into these since a simple patch and paint job wouldn’t fix it later.

The Stylish&Secure® Deluxe Top of Stairs Gate with Dual Banister Kit is the answer to our baby gate conundrum. It accommodates banister-to-banister installations with the use of the included banister kit which attaches the gate securely to banisters on one or both sides (full instructions on how it installs can be found here.)

The gate was easy to install (my husband, as usual, did the installation) and the directions were easy to follow (we know this because we didn’t argue in the process, ha!) Everleigh is kept safe from the stairs and my banisters are undamaged.

The gate is easy to open and close once you get the hang of it – my 7 year old can open it but my 3 year old can not which is probably a good thing since she’d be the one most likely to forget to close it anyway. It matches our decor perfectly, much better than the plastic gates we had in our other house.
