Strawberry Shortcake and her friends can’t wait to grow up, and they wonder what they’ll become some day. It’s all berry exciting as imaginations soar and Strawberry and her friends see what it’s like to be busy career girls! But when Peppermint Fizz becomes Mayor and gets berry, berry bossy, trouble strikes in Strawberryland. Growing Up Dreams is all about getting along, working together, and believing in your dreams. Plus, no matter how big you get…you should never outgrow being nice!
Oh how my (almost 4 year old) daughter loves Strawberry Shortcake! Though the look of this American Greetings Properties character has changed over the years since I was a fan in the 80s, her message stays the same. Strawberry Shortcake and her friends teach children how to get along and be a good friend. I watch current episodes on tv with Nevaeh and like the messages the show shares.
Currently, we have one song from some random episode that Nevaeh will sing the verse of about 5 times a day, no average, for a solid 6 weeks or so now. Just ask her. Anytime, anywhere, she will belt out this tune! I think it’s kind of like how us, as adults, can get a song stuck in our head permanently. At least it’s a cute song.
Growing Up Dreams is a great addition to her collection and has made it’s way into our vehicle to road trips (thankfully we have dual DVD screens so her 7 year old brother can watch something else…though I’ve caught him watching it with her too!)
DVD Special Features include printable coloring pages and a fun music video. Strawberry Shortcake: Growing Up Dreams was released on DVD August 30 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and American Greetings Properties.
