Comfort And Care And Maplelea

With back to school on the horizon, our household is preparing in a variety of ways. I, of course, am handling all the shopping and my husband is dutifully  completing the last of the honey-do list for the summer. My kids are slowly getting on a better sleeping schedule and thinking about the school year ahead. Understandably that comes with some anxiety, especially for my middle child who likes to over-think everything much like her mother!

As parents we, in turn, try and comfort our kids and get them excited about the year ahead. This summer, I had a bit of an ally in Maplelea Girls. If you’re unfamiliar with this product line, Maplelea Girls are Canadian dolls for Canadian girls. Much like that other brand in the US, the dolls have different looks like girls across Canada, and you can purchase new outfits and accessories for your girl as you wish. In our household, Maplelea Girls have been around for awhile, and played with from time to time, but for whatever reason this summer they became really important to my girls, and I was happy to encourage that imaginary play, bonding, and also the fact that two girls ages 8 and 5 could play together and get along which is a big deal.

Our Maplelea Dolls have been traveling with us to Alberta and North Dakota this summer, and (I think?) enjoying our adventures, but now that school is starting soon, they are settling in to the routine at home now too.

KM1There are a variety of play sets and accessories to choose from, including extra pages for the journal should your little one require more space to jot her thoughts (each of the 7 Maplelea Girls comes with a 64-page story journal in which she shares details about her life and the part of Canada she calls home.) We were so excited to get Maplelea Doll Beds and Bedding for our dolls this summer, especially since our girls each got their very own room and new beds this summer as well!

The Doll Bed from Maplelea is available for $59 and has optional accessories like a canopy frame for $25 and of course bedding (Butterfly Bedding  and Quilted Bed Linens seen above) which is $30-$32. There’s also a Night Table available for $28, even a Shoe Shelf for $33 (for all the Maplelea’s shoes!) and a bunch of other items on the website!

I like that the girls have their Maplelea Girls Dolls  by their sides all day long at home, and then put them to bed beside them at night, always having that companion beside them to talk to, should their thoughts make it take a little longer to fall asleep at night. In the morning, Maplelea Girls Dolls are ready to get up too, and start the day fresh.

If you’re working through the back to school emotions like we are, maybe a friend like Maplelea is just what your little one needs. Or, if you’re looking for holiday gifting ideas (I know, I know, it’s early!) and want to stick to something closer to home than those other dolls, consider bookmarking the Maplelea Girls website for future reference! Maplelea Girls dolls are currently not available in stores, to help keep costs down for their customers.
