5 Fun Baby Shower Games

baby shower games

Tis the season – if you haven’t already been to a baby shower this spring and summer, you possibly have one coming up. Even if unable to attend, it’s never been easier to send gifts to those we want to shower with our congratulations and love!

I’ve been very fortunate that with three babies, I’ve had three baby showers and each one was very different. My second baby shower involved just three other friends at a girlfriend’s house in the small town we were posted to at the time. My third baby shower I was primarily gifted with diapers and formula and was so grateful for the practical gifts the third time around!

If you’re tasked with planning a baby shower (or maybe just learned someone in your life is expecting so you’re planning ahead) here are 5 fun baby shower games to break the ice and keep your guests laughing:

My Water Broke!

For this game you’ll need tiny plastic babies (you can find these generally at party stores, weird I know but they’re there!), or use tiny gummy bears. Freeze each baby in an ice cube and give them to your guests in their drink. Instruct them that when they discover their baby is fully out of the ice cube to yell MY WATER BROKE! to win a prize.

Celeb Moms

Tape a picture of a famous mom (or celeb mom to be) on the backs of your guests without letting them see. Have them try to guess who their celebrity is by asking “yes” or “no” questions of the other guests.

The Forbidden Word

This game is great because it can last the entire party. Buy costume bracelets from the party store or dollar store and give each guest one as they arrive. Tell them the forbidden word (baby is a great one!) and advise them that should they say the word, the first person who catches their whoopsie claims that bracelet. At the end of the party (or even before a certain point so everyone is still there) the person with the most bracelets wins a prize.

Guess Who?

Ask each guest to bring a baby photo of themselves to the party (for some guests who may not have one handy, they can bring a baby photo of their own baby as an alternate). Quietly take all the photos when the guests get to the party and find a spot to display in another area. Have all the guests guess on a notepad who is who. The person with the most correct guests wins.

She Said What?

Write down everything the mother-to-be says when opening her gifts. Once she is done, announce to the guests that this is what she said the night the baby was conceived and have her read it aloud (I hope she doesn’t blush easily!)
