Talk About Fresh Ideas! Save-On-Foods Kitchen

If you’ve driven past the new Save-On-Foods location here in Regina, or better yet stopped in for your weekly groceries, you may have seen the Save-On-Foods Kitchen sign and wondered what exactly that meant. Stating the obvious, it’s true – Save-On-Foods has a huge kitchen on site and the employees are busy at work making a large variety of fresh foods for a quick lunch or to help your dinner prep tonight.

Save On Foods

I couldn’t believe how many kabobs one grocery store could have! Chicken, beef, pork and veggie are waiting, all marinated perfectly (there’s also marinated steak and chicken breasts among the other offerings at the meat counter, along with fresh seafood as well).

IMG_6297Save-On-Foods kitchen offers restaurant-quality and pocket-book friendly choices designed to suit the tastes of busy families who are on-the-go. I love that they have fresh prepared meat dishes, sides and desserts waiting every day for busy families. And, yes, a bunch of tempting dessert options as well.

Their ready-to-eat chicken meals are always aromatic and seasoned to perfection. Plus, they make meal time a cinch with their choose-your-own sides, from their extensive salad bar to made-in-store lasagna.Yum!

If you’re on your lunch break, you can even eat-in at Save-On-Foods (the sushi selection I’ve heard is to die for) as they have ample seating room (with plug-ins for your phone or computer). They have a wing bar too – yes, an assortment of chicken wing flavors ready for in-store munching or a take-home treat.

Frozen Yogurt at Save On Foods

Or, you can do what we do and stop by after swimming lessons in the evening for some Fro-Yo! Save-On-Foods is open in Regina until 11pm every evening so an after-activity stop is no problem. Notice the Jones Soda fountain in the photo? It’s bottomless! Pick up one while you’re shopping and re-fill on your way out the door.

While getting your weekly groceries at Save-On-Foods is always effortless (especially when you utilize e-commerce and shop online for delivery or free pick-up), now you can stop at Save-On-Foods for easy take-home meals or in-store eating on the go. I love this option for busy families. OK, I like the chicken wings too. Don’t judge.

Happy shopping, Regina!

  • You got my attention with kabobs and kept it all the while, wings are in my future…gotta hit this place up. Wish it was closer to me.

  • Oh wow now this sounds like a great place to shop, I love the variety of everything they have, you must be lucky to have such a great store to go too!!

  • I love Save-On-Foods although ours isn’t nearly as fancy as this! I find they have the best selection of organic produce in our area and I also love the fresh made sushi!

  • Looks amazing! Wish we had one… Looks a bit like the Farm Boys we have in Ontario 🙂

  • WOW – I’m jealous, I don’t have anything like that in my town. The closest store to that in my town is Sobey’s and Zehrs and neither of them has a frozen yogurt bar.

  • Wow that looks amazing. What a selection of Kabobs! And that Frozen Yogurt bar is great!

  • This store sounds amazing, especially the Frozen Yogurt Bars! I would love to have a Save-On-Foods close by.

  • everything looks so great, this has to be the most glamourus grocery store ever

  • Saskatoon is getting one on the west end, in Kensington. I hope they have all of these things in store. Looking forward to shopping there!

  • That frozen yogurt bar looks amazing! What a great treat for surviving grocery shopping!!

  • The meat counter and the baked goods remind me of shopping at Highland Farms, (minus the froyo).

  • I popped in finally and was really impressed with the right side of the store (deli/bakery/produce/eat in) but the rest of it had me cringing, weird set ups with the short aisles. The prices were not what i was expecting and on brands i can get elsewhere. Lastly…. 5 checkouts only? the lines were very lengthy. Although i noticed there was also a number of self checkouts.
I can’t say i’d be back any time soon, tbh… but it sure was pretty!

  • What a fancy Save On Foods. I shop at Save On where I live but ours is older and smaller but I still like it.

  • My favourite grocery store, although we do not have a nice, shiny, new one with these specialty sections. Beautiful.

  • Ok… my save-on doesn’t have a yogurt bar! I might actually convince my kids to cooperate while I shop if there was!!!!

  • the one thats going to be built in Saskatoon is quite near the area I shop in so I will check them out.

  • Wow that food looks amazing!! I sure wish we had one here in Durham Region. I would go just for the wings and the deserts!! And those kabobs would be nice on the grill for the summer! yuuummmy!

  • Our Save-on doesn’t have a yogurt bar but love shopping there, especially the bakery dept.!

  • Making kabobs for supper tonight! Wish we had a Save On here so that I could pick some up for times when I don’t have time to assemble them.
