Reese Peanut Butter Cups have been a part of my life since childhood – I can recall the 80’s commercial in a movie theater where a chocolate bar from the balcony falls into a jar of peanut butter held by someone below (I found the commercial here!) Nevermind that it’s completely bizarre that someone would spoon peanut butter into their mouth at a theater, it had me sold! I would keep Reese’s Peanut Butter cups as my prized possessions after Halloween (it’s the only time I can recall having them). You’re likely to find a package of Reese Peanut Butter Cups in my pantry (near the top, because they’re for mom!) any time of the year – it’s one of the privilages of being an adult when you can have your treats whenever you want.
Now, Reese is making the delicious taste of their Reese Peanut Butter Cups an anytime indulgence with Reese Peanut Butter Chocolate Spread, on store shelves now! While my kids love it on toast, or opening up a package of Reese Snacksters with graham cracker dippers and Reese Peanut Butter Chocolate Spread, Hershey has a ton of great ideas for every day snacking. I decided to try it as a topping on cheddar crackers with bacon (yes, that’s right) sprinkled on top, after seeing the idea on the Hershey’s Canada website here!
Left on the counter as an afternoon snack the day I photographed these, my kids came home and devoured them! My eleven-year-old son loved them the most. If you’ve been unsure about combining chocolate and bacon (it’s happening!) this is an easy way to try it. Of course having a yummy cheddar cracker and peanut butter in the mix just adds to the flavor explosion!
