Barbie Rock n’ Royals

Barbie Rock n RoyalsPerception is in the eye of the beholder. While none of my three kids have been in music lessons, I still consider our family fairly “musical”. We’ve considered piano lessons for my middle child and my son is starting band (trumpet!) at school this year, but our musical fun comes from carefree day to day influence rather than a structured musical program.

IMG_0287My two daughters (7 and 4) certainly have musical hearts; they’re always singing (the oldest is the lead while her younger sister is back-up) and of course, if they can add in some moves, all the better. The family is often treated to impromtu performances in the living room!

Now my girls can embrace their inner rock star with the DVD release of Barbie Rock ‘n Royals! In this upbeat musical, Barbie stars as Princess Courtney, a modern-day princess whose world is flipped upside down when she switches places with Erika, a famous rock star. The two very different worlds collide when a mistake sends Princess Courtney to Camp Pop and Erika to Camp Royalty. While Princess Courtney and Erika learn to adapt to their different camps, they must come together when they find out both camps are at risk of shutting down. Through this process, they find their true voices, and come together for an epic sing-off that shows anything is possible!

Your kids can visit the Barbie BeSuper website to learn more about Barbie Rock ‘n Royals including a contest where you could win a trip to Hollywood to attend the Barbie Rock n’ Royals concert featuring a special musical guest!

I think a musical house is a more joyful house (even if all the right notes are not hit!) and having Barbie, whom my girls role play with every day, part of the fun makes it even better. How do you encourage music and self-expression in your household? Answer that question below to be entered to win a Barbie Rock ‘n Royals prize package!
