Lalaloopsy Babies Diaper Surprise

I magically poop charms!

This was the sentiment on the box of a Lalaloopsy Babies Diaper Surprise that was shared by a friend of mine on Facebook last month, which brought about some discussion and laughs from other moms. Yup, that’s exactly what the box says, and it’s actually true. Which is funny and weird all at the same time – and absolutely perfect in the world of a seven year old.

This Lalaloopsy Babies doll drinks her bottle of water, and you can spoon feed her too.  When she’s had enough, simply push on her belly button and the baby pees in her special diaper which in turn produces a magical charm!  It literally took four adults sitting at the breakfast table one morning a few minutes collectively to determine exactly how this happened (it was a late night…)

The diapers have a special layer in them that, when activated by water, dissolves to reveal a charm inside.  Your child, of course, thinks this charm has been pooped out by the baby, yet has no problem attaching it to a charm bracelet and wearing it proudly (kids are so weird!)  I thought the appeal of this Lalaloopsy doll might disappear once the enclosed diapers were used up (you can purchase more separately) but both my girls (ages 3 and 7) have been playing with this doll quite a bit, albeit with a table cloth underneath at the table.  They love feeding her a bottle or spoon-fed water and then making her pee.  Yep, kids are weird.
