Did you know? It’s Walmart’s 20th Anniversary! For the past 20 years, Walmart has been helping Canadians save money and live better (hey, their logo really does speak the truth!) and this certainly is the case for our family.
I remember it being a huge event when Walmart stores opened in Saskatchewan. I had been spoiled living in Regina with easy access to a Walmart after that, and then it became a much bigger deal when Walmart came to my smaller hometown. Now, Supercentres are what Canadians are getting excited about as they are popping up in communities and old stores are being converted to include them as well.
Walmart truly has become a one-stop shop for our family because you simply can’t beat the prices and convenience. I can’t state how crucial getting everything in one spot is during a blustery Saskatchewan winter when I don’t want to even venture out of my front door, much less make a half a dozen stops. With Walmart, I can be in and out before my car turns into an ice block in January and certainly before my ice cream and popcicles have time to melt in my cart in July.

Oh Gosh Walmart has saved me money when we were a family of 5. I can go one stop shop. Now that I am retired and have a medical issue that does not allow me to go physically shopping I shop on line several times a week. We’re fortunate that a Walmart was built walkin distance from us about 2yrs ago. Before that we would travel 15-20mins to get to one. We love the fact they have something for everyone. Also able to accept coupons and price matching.

When do the growth spurts in boys stop ? Walmart is not only convenient but reasonably prices for the replacements needed pretty much every 3 1/2 months. Sneakers/Crocks/Sandals/Rubber Rain Boots/Winter Boots….they have saved my OOdles.

Walmart has helped me save over the years by having almost everything I need in one store, so that I don’t have to drive around to get great deals. I have saved on baby/kid’s clothes, diapers, wipes, toys, food, holiday supplies, cards, books, toiletries etc… Their books, magazines etc are discounted from the sticker price, they take coupons, they do rollbacks… I can always find a great deal at Walmart!
Our walmart drove the competition down, cheese slices and cereal went down by half, and many more products now go on sale at other stores to compete. I also have their credit card, and have gotten over 200$ off my groceries redeeming my money back on that so far. I have bought towels there and they held up better than Sears, camping equipment, lamps, craft supplies and pet supplies. It has become a one-stop shopping ground (especially with the Supercentre) saving me time and gas going elsewhere!

Always low prices and now with so many items online with free delivery I save a lot of money on gas as the closest Walmart to us is a 45 minute drive one way. I still go in every 3 months or so to check out whats in store that they don’t ship.
I’m not sure how much it’s saved me so-far (probably a lot!), but it’s about to get a whole lot better. My boyfriend starts work at Walmart today, and he gets his 10% off discount card. That will come in handy for groceries!
