We have lived in our house for 5 years now… and it wasn’t until recently that I finally found something to clean our floors to a streak-free shine.
The H2O Mop x5 Elite is a 5-in-1; floor steam cleaner, carpet steamer, hand-held steamer, window cleaner, and garment steamer. I recently tried it on our laminate/ceramic tile floors and it worked beautifully. It is also very easy to use. Simply fill with pure water, set to suggested level, push a button, and go!
There are 4 settings on the mop that determine the amount of steam/moisture you want to use. I use the lowest setting on our floors because the less moisture you use, the less streaks you end up with. The mop left my floors gleaming.
One downfall is that the cord is rather short, so you have to unplug a lot… but the fact I don’t need to haul around a bucket, rag, cleaning solution etc. makes re-plugging a few times no big deal. The mop is lightweight (less than 5 lbs) and maneuvers with ease.
The box claims this mop is safe to clean ceramic tile, marble, granite, carpet, laminate, sealed hardwood, slate and vinyl floors. However, I suggest always checking with your flooring manufacturer before using ANYTHING new on your flooring. I have had friends damage their floors with various chemicals and mop heads. A ‘test area’ is also a great idea.
While I was pleased with how well the H2O Mop x5 Elite worked on my floors, I wanted to test out some of its other options. I set the mop on ‘high’ and put on the carpet attachment which enables the mop to glide across your rug. I injected some steam into a long-time stain. After steaming it, I blotted it with a dry rag… the stain was gone! I could even see the debris on my white rag. I was very impressed as I have tried removing this stain with chemical cleaners in the past and nothing worked. The H2O mop uses ONLY water at all times, which also makes it as environmentally friendly as you can get.
I wasn’t ambitious enough to do my windows, so I tried the window/glass/mirror attachment on my glass table top – it worked like a charm. While the mop is slightly cumbersome to get out for a table or counter top, I look forward to steaming my home’s many large windows in the spring. I steamed out a silk blouse using the garment steamer, another check!
Overall I was very impressed with ALL options the H2O Mop x5 Elite offers. I love the versatility, and think this is a great household item, even if you can put in to use in 2 or 3 ways.
The mop retails for $119.95 in Canada and US, a decent value considering it’s a 5-in1… and you are cleaning with the power of steam which means a dramatic cut-back in the amount of cleaning products you are buying. My enthusiasm over this mop has me thinking I should audition for its infomercial!

I am a total germaphobe and love to disinfect everything but I’m sensitive to chemicals. Using steam would be perfect!

I soooo wanted one of these for Christmas or Valentines day. Forget the chocolate!!! Still on my WISH LIST LOL I desperately need one. With my arthritis and other ailments it is becoming more and more difficult to lug the mop pail and bucket around. this would do me a WORLD of good. Aside from the ME ME ME, my hardwood floors would take a liking to it. I cringe every time I mop the floors and see the excess water just sitting and soaking in waiting for it to dry. 🙁

I love that this just uses water. We have a swiffer wet jet and I HATE the smell of the solution for it! We have hardwood on our main floor and laminate downstairs.

We have several vacuum cleaner and quite a few mops around the house, but none of them do a very good job.
Aside from 39 windows, we have a wide variety of floor, hardwood, carpeting / rug, vinyl and ceramic tiles, linoleum… and they are alll difficult to clean!
First of all. we have two cats, who shed a lot, cough up food and hairballs, knock things over/ spill things – with a lot of help from my Honesy/Hubby who is decidedly sprill=prone. He also works on projects around the house and garden (in the dirt & mud) showel snow and paints – so he’s always tracking on or knocking over a MESS. I would LOVE to try this wonderful H2O mop. I love that it’s a 5-in1 cleaner. The one I’m using now doesn’t clean tile very good.
I have all hard flooring in my house — from the old-style narrow-plank hardwood from 1973, Armstrong vinyl in my kitchen (NEVER AGAIN it is AWFUL!! I am constantly fighting with it because everything stains it & it ALWAYS looks dirty and the installers messed up at the kickplates, they were supposed to run it up under the cupboards but they “forgot”, so used silicone to patch… the installation warranty was only 1 year, and it took about 1 year an 2 months for it to suddenly start peeling & falling apart 🙁
I intalled laminate in my own bedroom myself, and peel & stick tiles in my ensuite bathroom…
So I *NEED* a proper doohicky thingamaboobie to clean all my floors (AND WALLS — I have cathedral ceilings in my main living room area…LOTS of spring cleaning coming my way!!

This looks like an amazing and multipurpose tool to have on hand. It’s also environmentally friendly and as someone with sensitivities as well as a indoor kitty safety is a must. The less chemicals the better, and since this uses no chemicals it’s perfect. It also appears to not take up a lot of room which is great because I live in a small apartment.

I love that it is chemical free! I would also love to try it on hardwood, which streaks seem to always be an issue! I also love that it can be used as a garment steamer, which I haven’t had in years (one of those things I never replace but stumble across purposes that make me wish I had one……then forget again!).
