If you have previously read a review by me about Weleda products, you will know how much of a huge fan I am. It’s not just for the outstanding quality of the product, but also what they stand for. Named after the celtic goddess of wisdom and healing, Weleda products work with the body’s own healing through the use of natural ingredients. Weleda introduces a new product in the Wild Rose Smoothing Facial Capsules. The oil within each of the capsules provides nutrients that penetrate deep into the skin that soften fine lines, improve elasticity and restore vitality. Made from 100% certified natural and 90% organic cold-pressed Rosehip Seed oil from Chilie, these capsules have the benefits of antioxidants A, C and E that work to promote skin healing & renewal. Evening Primrose oil combats inflammation, while the essential fatty acids from sweet almond oil nourish the skin. My favourite part, as in all the amazing Weleda products I’ve used, is the incredible scent. It is different than most chemically perfumed products in that Weleda uses essential oils for fragrance; in this case it is the essential oil from the Rosa Damascena flower, grown organically in Turkey.
When I first opened the jar, I had to double check that these weren’t to be taken orally, as they looked very similar to another supplement I was taking. After confirming that I was to open up one of the capsules to massage into my skin, I had to laugh at myself at the thought of swallowing one of them. I twisted the narrow part off the capsule, which released a beautiful scent of a bouquet of fresh wild roses. I was skeptical about rubbing oil all over my face, thinking it counter-intuitive to having freshly cleansed skin, but found the oil is very light and, believe it or not, not really greasy.
I use the capsules once or twice a week and find that it really helps to hydrate and help my skin stay soft and moisturized in this awful dry winter air. For those looking for a more intensive treatment, it can be used daily for four weeks. If you are looking for a great quality skin care product, I highly recommend trying this, or any of the other amazing products available from Weleda to suit your skin care needs!
