We’re just months away from 2014, can you believe it? And you know what that means – beyond the holiday treats and new year’s eve party – it’s time to think about some 2014 resolutions! I know, I know, resolutions almost are a recipe for failure because we set ourselves up for so much (call it wild anticipation and promise with a new year ahead!)
To have success in any endevour, you need a plan. A solid map to follow on how to achieve your goals weather that goal be about making more money, finding more time for your family or yourself, or weight loss and excercise. It’s not enough to simply say, “I’m going to do it!” You need to figure out how.
Subway has a new campaign based all around achieving a healthy lifestyle. Not a diet. Not a quick fix.
The video below shares great information on being your best and setting your nutrition expectations to help you achieve a healthier lifestyle. One of my favorite pieces of advice from this video is, “If you do get off track, remember every day is Monday…” You can always balance things out and do better tomorrow, and ultimately that’s what it’s about in the end – doing better.
I’ve been trying to eat clean since August and had a bit of a slip but back on track. its so hard.
It is so hard to eat this way. I am trying hard especially with my son.
I have been trying to eat better. I would like my daughter to grow up having tried a variety of foods. When I was young, my parents only gave me basic things, so I always thought ‘exotic’ food was gross, even though I had never tried them. Boy was I missing out.

If I am exercising then it is easy to get motivation for eating healthy food. So I just have to keep up with my sport routing.
I am too old now to run any marathons but its never too last to start eating healthy. I am going to do my best to do this starting now. Then I will choose from my list of rewards. 🙂
Having a plan to eat healthy and exercise is definitely the key to a happier life!
Stop eating meat. Start with that and you’ll not only save yourselves, you’ll save some animals as well.
We have been trying to eat healthier and hopefully we can continue and improve on this into 2014!
That’s the key is a plan. I tend to fall apart when I get home late from work and just want to grab anything
I try to eat healthy most of the time but it can be a challenge.
Prepare on Sunday, even snacks so good healthy food is at the ready when you’re tired and getting home late. That way it’s almost ready when you get home. Another trick I use is my slow cooker (I have two) one for lunch soups and one for meats and veggies. That way the supper is ready when you get in!
It’s certainly a challenge to eat healthy all the time. I think it’s important to not get too down on yourself if you cheat on occasion.

The beginning of 2013 I made a commitment to eat healthy and I was successful until August. Then I just fell off the wagon and have been trying to get back on since. I need to have a long term plan and no that if I should slip up I don’t have to beat myself up over it.

I think growing as much of your own food as you can makes a huge difference in the quality of your diet. Also trying to limit your purchases to more local grown foods makes your diet much more fresh and sustainable.
really trying hard to eat better for the kids sake.
I definitely need to be more food conscious in 2014.
It all starts with a goal and a plan and then it’s sticking with it. I have been trying to eat healthier all this year and so far it’s been pretty good going. I slip every so often but I do get right back to the plan.
That’s great. I try to have a plan and let my child new things without forcing- he is pretty good so far.
The best thing is to throw out all junky food & stock the pantry with healthy choices…no temptation!
