The very first time I saw a preview for Disney’s Planes, I got goosebumps. Perhaps it was because we had just returned from an amazing trip to Disneyland where we experienced the opening of Cars Land. Maybe it was because we were due for a new Disney movie and this fit the bill perfectly. Maybe it was the music that accompanied the preview, White Zombie’s More Human Than Human. Whatever the case, this was a movie that our whole family was waiting for.
Synopsis:
The world of Cars takes flight in Planes, Disney’s high-flying animated comedy revved up with action and adventure. Join Dusty, a crop duster with sky-high dreams and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to take on the world’s fastest flyers in the greatest air race ever. Dusty has a huge heart but two big problems…he’s not exactly built for speed, plus he’s afraid of heights. His courage is put to the ultimate test as this unlikely hero aims higher than he ever imagined. With a little help from his friends, Dusty finds the courage to be more than he was built for—and the inspiration to soar.
We found a lot of similarities to Cars, so it’s a no-brainer to tell you that if your kids loved Cars they’re going to love this movie too. Still, the story captivates you and you’re (of course!) rooting for Dusty and his friends the whole way through. It’s one of those movies you simply need to have in your collection, to display on your shelf beside Cars and Cars 2.
I couldn’t help but wonder how far the Planes franchise would reach and if – one day – we may end up visiting Disneyland to take in a Planes themed park! After all, Soarin’ California is already there…hmmmmm!
Look for Disney Planes in stores November 19th and put it under your tree this holiday season (if you can wait that long to watch it, that is!)
