Yes, it’s that time of the year again!  I learned long ago that shopping for Halloween Costumes after October 20th is not a wise idea, and shopping online is the way to go for the best selection.  This year, I teamed up with HalloweenCostumes.com to share with readers some of the most popular costumes available for purchase for both US and Canadian customers.

My two-year-old is beside herself with excitement after receiving this Kids Prestige Snow White Costume ($48.99)  We picked toddler size 3T-4T (I find sizing up is generally the best idea in costumes because you never know how much layering you will have to do in cold weather!)  Features of the Kids Prestige Snow White Costume include:

  • 100% polyester crushed velvet, satin and knit mesh fabrics
  • Dress has back zipper
  • Deep blue velvet bodice has printed gold scroll design
  • Metallic gold braid edging & character medallion at neckline

My five-year-old adores The Little Mermaid and when we saw this Child Mermaid Costume ($26.99) we knew it was perfect for her!  The Child Mermaid Costume comes with:

  • 50% polyester/50% metallic knit fabric
  • Pale purple long-sleeved top is trimmed with purple metallic sequin knit and iridescent sequins & has elastic neckline
  • Seafoam green metallic sequin knit skirt is fitted down to the knees
  • Skirt widens into a green metallic knit tail fin below the knees
  • 4 sparkly pink polyfoam seashells on plastic headband

I opted for size small for her (6-8 years old) and while the skirt is long it fits in such a way with the mermaid tail that she won’t trip on it.

kids creeper minecraft costumeNow, the biggest deal ever in this household is that we’ve found a Minecraft costume for my Mindcraft obsessed nine-year-old!  This Kids Minecraft Creeper Hoodie at $98.99 is pricy, I get it, but I know this isn’t just a costume and won’t be worn for one day.  Thankfully, this also doubles as a super cool hoodie (or should we say, the hoodie doubles as a costume).  I know my son will wear it for the rest of the year as a hoodie, hopefully without the mask on to the annoyance of school teachers everywhere, and once he’s outgrown it I’m pretty sure I can pass it on to another Minecraft fan next year!

I love when sites offer customer reviews, because the reviews on this product told me that ordering  size up (a large instead of a medium) was the way to go and I’m glad I did!  The hoodie is a big fit on my 9 year old but  much better than the medium would have been, especially since he’s going to be wearing this for the rest of the school year.

Shipping in the US is inexpensive but shipping to Canada can be pricey.  Customers can enter their postal code in at check-out to get the actual shipping cost before the purchase is complete.  HalloweenCostumes.com uses courier shipping (2 business days or 4 business days are the only options) which explains the cost.  The shipping estimate for the hoodie alone was almost $30!  So, my suggestion is to put in an order with a friend or two and split the shipping cost, until HalloweenCostumes.com can offer Canadian customers a better shipping option.
