Have Your Cake – And Lather It On Your Body Too!

cake collage 2With Mother’s Day undoubtedly the theme for May, there’s a lot of focus on celebrating mom.  For one day.  Maybe a weekend if you can push it.

There’s also a lot of reflection during May on all things motherhood.  We all know very well that mother’s day is not about one single day but it’s about claiming it as our own for what it’s worth!  We don’t take enough time for ourselves as mom and women in this grown-up world (when did that happen?) and in that spirit Cake brings you the Sweethearts collection!

Remember your first sleep over? Learning how to double dutch? Getting detention for passing notes with Jennifer? And remember Sweethearts – those iconic little candy hearts that feature messages, equal parts sweet and sassy? These were the candies that you shared with best friends; the candies that you gave to boyfriends.

Doing what she does best, Cake President and Founder Heather Reier, has once again succeeded in capturing the spirit of youth, and bottling it in a decadent bath and body collection. “Sweethearts candies are symbolic of a simpler time”, says Reier, “and developing this collection was a lot of fun because it brought me back to some of my own best memories.”

Reier believes the Canadian beauty market will experience a similar trip down memory lane. “This collection will appeal to beauty lovers across Canada, because it’s the perfect marriage of Cake’s natural and quality ingredient-formulas, but designed and packaged to embody a playful sassiness to which all women can relate.”

Cake Sweethearts

The Sweethearts by Cake collection is available at Sephora Canada, Murale and cakebeauty.com, and includes these luscious products:

 ‘Hands Down, You’re Mine’ luscious velveteen hand creme ($20)  – a nourishing hand creme with a luxurious texture that absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving hands smooth and silky. Infused with marshmallow extract, mango butter and glycerin.

‘Call Me, Super Soft’ luscious body butter ($24) – a highly nourishing formula with a deliciously smooth, whipped texture designed to soothe and hydrate skin.  Infused with mango butter, macadamia nut oil and aloe vera oil.

‘Come Clean, Cutie Pie’ luscious bath & shower froth ($22)  – a luscious and rejuvenating shower froth, with rich cascading bubble.  Infused with nourishing virgin oil to coco crème

‘Fresh Start, Sweet Thing’ luscious hair and body mist ($18) – a deliciously scented hair and body refreshing mist.  Infused with aloe vera and glycerin.

‘Kiss Me, I’m Sweet’ luscious lip treatment ($14) – a luscious and sheer lip treatment that moisturizes and protect lips, leaving them dewy, soft and kissable.   Infused with vitamin E and pomegranate extract.

All of these products smell like the vanilla-sweet scent of Sweethearts candy, which makes them irresistable.  My personal favorites are the Call Me, Super Soft luscious body butter (great for spring and summer legs, smooth it on and walk away!) and of course Kiss Me, I’m Sweet luscious lip treatment because I am lip gloss obsessed.  This lip treatment is noticeably thicker than most, because after all it’s a treatment.  Not just all about good looks and scents, this Cake.
