A Clean Baby Is A Happy Baby

Clean Baby Happy BabyThe other night, with my 2-year-old having a glorious bubble bath in the soaker tub nearby, I looked over to the bathroom sink and reminisced at how quickly she has grown. It was just two years ago that we were bathing her tiny newborn body in that bathroom sink. Now here she is, my youngest baby, splashing happily, chattering on to her bath toys, and calling me over to rinse her hair.

I also thought back to my first-born, how nervous my husband and I were as new parents to this tiny – breakable – baby! Bath time was a complete event in our household back then, and I giggle thinking back on it today. We bathed him in our master bedroom, in a baby bath tub on our bed, with a heater set up to warm the room up and – wait for it – soothing classical music playing in the background. Yes, our first-born had a very posh and special bath experience! He hated his baths, so I did everything I could think of to make it a soothing experience. Now, three kids under-foot, my third-born child is lucky if there’s enough warm water left after her older siblings have used it all! No spa time for this baby!

Still, I definitely have a few favourite products that make bath time flawless. Once you find something that works, you go back to it and recommend it to others. I also use these items as my go-to baby gifts when creating gift bags for baby showers.
The PUJ Tub is a soft, flexible product that adjusts to fit into any sink! It was priceless to us with our third baby, and made bath time a breeze. No sore back, no startled baby in a too-big bath. We loved it and I recommend it to others all the time!

For bath time comfort, Arbonne Baby products are a big hit among moms. Available online or at a home-party, they are super-gentle on baby’s skin and smell delicious! The diaper cream has an almost cult-like following online. I love how moms sharing with other moms contributes to the success of this product in particular.
Another product I loved (and still use) is Norwex Microfiber Baby Hooded Towels and Face Cloths. They’re super soft and hold an amazing amount of water (which is perfect for squeezing out over baby’s head for a gentle stream while washing their chicken-fuzz hair!)

After three kids, hundreds of baths, and trial and error with a variety of bath time products – we learned something. The older the kids get, the more a bath is needed. Newborns and infants actually don’t need to be bathed as often as we think! It’s the older child, sweaty and dirty from a day in the backyard that needs a good bubble bath at the end of the day, not your precious itty bitty newborn who hasn’t moved further than your arms! Ironic, right? My husband and I put so much effort and concentration into our first born’s nightly bath routine, and he probably didn’t need it more than once every two days at most!

For those in-between days, and anytime during the day – a product like Huggies Wipes with Triple Clean layers works in place of a full bathing routine. The cloth-like wipes take the place of baby soap and a face cloth and wipe baby down with ease.
Places to pay particular attention to when doing a nightly wipe-down: baby’s neck folds and behind their ears – milk has a funny way of collecting in those places!

At the end of the day, a clean baby is a happy baby and a relaxed parent is a happy parent. Find products that work, and stick to them! Don’t forget to recommend them to your mommy friends too – we’re all in this together!

  • That PUJ tub is awesome – what a great idea! I look forward to the day that my toddler and infant can bathe together – it would make getting everyone clean a lot easier if we can do it at once!

  • I remember the ring ones when mine were little and the suction cups never stuck and it was hard to pull them out.

  • We have no babies at home but love the herbal oil and diaper rash it’s a must for mosquito bites, poison Ivy/oak, etc.
Happy to see you like them too!!

  • I live to hear mom’s tell the baby stories….I love Arbonne products so much I became a consultant… My little ones love the ABC baby line and the smell amazing but my oldest son who is 12 now still uses it….he has or should I say had rally bad….and I mean really bad eczema , to the point it covered his whole body, the Dermotologist gave him the strongest steroid he could for his age and yet still no luck. A friend of mine asked had I heard if Arbonne…and at that time I hadn’t so she gave me the ABC line to try on him…with in one week it had virtually disappeared!!! I couldn’t believe it so I started using it on all my kids. Then after a while I had tried a few more if their products I became a consultant.

My son is at an age now. Especially during the warmer months when it is shorts and t shirt weather…he is very self continuous about how he looks…he hated having red peeling skin, now he looks and feels great and doesn’t mind wearing swim shorts in the summer and going in the pool

    ARBONNE IS AMAZING!!!!

  • Arbonne’s pure, safe products pulled me in too, as a consultant I now only work part time and get to stay home with my babies more!
Like Tenille, the ABC line is a great gift. I have samples that I send to those interested if you’d like one, send me your email.
I definitely want to find the hooded Norwex micro fibre towel:) Thanks for the insight Tenille!

  • well you gotta do whatever it takes to get them in the bath, the classical music is a nice idea

  • Bath time was always my favorite time with my girl. She would smile and splash. I likes it better than bathing her in the bath tub.

  • Love the tub, bathing a baby should give any parent anxiety and you have to make sure you’re using the safest possible product.

  • I have never seen that tub, I’m sure my daughter would have loved using it. I do love using Arbonne diaper cream and norwex products!!

  • For most parents, bathing is something that is more of an activity that should be completed, now I know they right way of doing so. The baby can stay clean and healthy, while enjoy this ritual as a fun time!

  • My husband and I bathed the babies together…..I does get so sad when you don’t get to do that anymore.

  • I won the PUJ tub from you a couple years ago and used it right up until my son got to big for it. I haven’t heard of Arbonne products before. Off to google I go 🙂

  • You’re firstborn’s baths seem like they were quite the production. I also have 3 little ones and yes, they sure do grow out of the sink fast!

  • i’ve never tried one of these tubs!! i wish i would have found it when my 2 girls were youngest it looks awesome!!
