Spring flowers aren’t the only things popping up in April! Disney Junior is proud to announce that Henry Hugglemonster will be debuting on Sunday April 21st, at 12:30pm ET, with new episodes Sundays at 12:30pm ET! So what’s this adorable character’s story?
Henry is a typical five-year-old middle child who lives in Roarsville. He loves his family, enjoys playing outside with his friends and says exactly what he thinks the moment it pops into his head. He’s just the sort of high-energy kid who might live right down the street or even in your own home. Except, of course, for one small detail; Henry is a monster! Each 22-minute episode of Henry Hugglemonster features two 11-minute stories that take preschoolers and their parents on Henry’s adventures as the young monster plays with his friends and tries his best to get along with his three siblings.
Henry Hugglemonster debuted in Britain earlier this year, and is now rolling out in Canada and the US as well as over 150 countries Worldwide. When Disney does things, they do it big! I think this series has potential to be a big success, based on all the creative talents involved!
Led by Disney Junior EMEA’s VP of production Beth Gardiner (Jungle Junction, Little Einsteins), the series was greenlit in 2011 and directed by Norton Virgien (Doc McStuffins), written by Sascha Paladino (Wonder Pets) and produced by Gillian Higgins (Octonauts).
We even get a voice cameo by Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell when she turns up in an episode portraying a popular monster pop star named Isabella Roarsome!
Also debuting on Sunday April 21st (right before Henry Hugglemonster!) at 12:00pm ET is a special 30 minute episode of Quest for the Crystal Mickey!
Plunderin’ Pete has snatched the legendary Crystal Mickey statue from the Clubhouse! Worse yet, without the magic of the Crystal Mickey, the Clubhouse starts to sink into the ground, never to be seen again! We have to get that statue back! A nail-biting, high-stakes adventure like this requires an extraordinary hero to lead the way, namely, Kansas City Mickey! With K.C. Mickey in charge, and the help of us at home, not even Plunderin’ Pete’s trickiest traps can keep us from recovering the Crystal Mickey and getting it back just in time to save our beloved Clubhouse.
Set your PVRs early and circle the date on your calendar – April 21st is going to be a great day at Disney Junior!
We can’t wait for Henry Hugglemonster! It looks like such a cute show.
We are excited for it too! 🙂 #DisneyJuniorMom
