Parenting: Illustrated with Crappy Pictures (THE BOOK!)

parenting illustrated with crappy pictures book

I’m a busy blogging-mama.  The irony is that my own blog doesn’t allow me much time to read other’s blogs as much as I’d like.  Still, there are a few that I need to check in on at least weekly to get my dose of reality, laughter, and tell-it-like-it-is style without a Dr.Philism in sight.  Amber Dusick’s blog, Parenting: Illustrated with Crappy Pictures is one of them.

How this amazing writer uses her stick-figure crappy pictures to illustrate the hilarious but oh-so-painfully-true stories about parenting is genius.  Her writing is magnifique (!) but without her pictures the stories would not be the same.  While we can certainly reach back to our own moments in our head while reading about toddler diaper changes (Chapter 9, I handed it to my husband to explain the genius that is Dusick), there’s just something simplicity perfect about her stick figure pictures to help tell the story.

I’m so thrilled that Amber Dusick’s creativity has now turned into a book.  In bookstores and online today, March 26th, this is the book you should put in a gift bag for a new mom.  This is the book you buy your best friend when she has her first and finally gets it.  This is the book you hand back and forth between yourself and your husband, giggling over your favorite parts.

Check out Parenting: Illustrated with Crappy Pictures (the blog) and then look for the book in stores and online today!

P.S. One of her latest posts “The Quickie Window” had me smirking like a little vixen.  You’ll get it.
