Wow, time flies! It was just a few months ago when the dates for the Spring Saskatoon East OutGROW OutPLAY sale were announced and now it’s just over a month away. April 13th and 14th are the dates you need to circle on your calendar!
If you’re consigning, the Consignors 101 Manual has been updated with new information that you’ll find really helpful. Having done this sale 3 times now, I can attest to many of the facts shared in this PDF. Specifically, there’s great information about pricing:
While clothes are what we as parents accumulate the most of, they are not the hottest items selling at these sales (I always come back with about 1/4 to 1/3 of the clothing I brought in) so I suggest only choosing the clothing that YOU WOULD BUY if you were shopping as well. Anything else can be donated to various programs (the Clothesline Program is a great one I donate to monthly) or handed down to friends or family as play clothes. Trust me, save the time for the items that will sell. TOYS, BABY ITEMS (STROLLERS, PLAY TABLES, ETC) and OUTDOOR TOYS are huge sellers at this sale. At the last sale, I finally put in a larger amount of toys after purging our toy room and they all sold! The kids didn’t miss the toys at all.
I love so many things about the structure of this sale. Printing my own tags, knowing they are bar-code tags so there’s no mistake in the pricing and inventory, and being able to see my sold items within hours of the sale closing is a huge bonus that no other consignment sale can offer. I also love how much money goes back into MY pocket. Of course, the organizers of this sale are there to make money too which is understandable, but they also appreciate our help and reward consignors accordingly for their work.
Consignors start earning 65% of your sold items (which is more than many consignment stores offer already!) but by volunteering in various ways you can earn up to 80% of your sales back in your pocket, plus volunteers get early-bird access to the sale! There’s just no better option in terms of organization, customer-base, and money in your pocket here in Saskatchewan.
Are you ready for it Saskatoon? If you’re interested in being a consignor click here to sign up (there’s no minimum or maximum on what you consign so it’s worth it to sign up), and if you know someone looking to score HUGE BARGAINS ON CHILDREN’S ITEMS make sure you tell them about this sale. There’s even a first-time parent sale for these parents to get a sneak peak ahead of the crowds!
Happy tagging and selling everyone!
