I can think of few things more essential in my kitchen than a slow cooker. I use mine at least once a week and it doesn’t change by season. In the summer months, using a slow cooker is a great way to keep the kitchen cool (instead of using the oven) and in the winter, a slow cooker is the perfect appliance for cooking a variety of feel-good comfort foods!
When given the opportunity to check out a new Crock Pot slow cooker and Crock Pot Little Dipper, I realized then that my old slow cooker is one that I had since our wedding! I was happy to get a new version to update my kitchen, and one that had more features than my older model.
So, I donated my old model to one of my favorite charities (Diabetes Association Clothesline Program) and put this pretty baby on my kitchen counter.
The Little Dipper is perfect for taking along dips to holiday get-togethers. You can prepare it at home in the oven or in the slow cooker itself, and then when at the event, it can stay warm and tasty all night long (cold dips are kind of ew after they’ve sat out for awhile, agreed?)
The 5 Quarts Crock-Pot Slow Cooker has two heat settings plus a keep warm setting which is one of those no-brainer things that all slow cookers should have, yet my old one didn’t! After using my new Crock-Pot Slow Cooker twice now, I’ve noticed that the high setting is a lot hotter than my own one, and I’ve had to adjust cooking times accordingly.

The unit itself is easy to clean and the removable stoneware and lid are both dishwasher safe. You can find the 5 Quarts Crock-Pot Slow Cooker in Canada at Home Hardware, Bed Bath & Beyond, London Drugs, Co-Op and more.
