What is it about fall that brings about a desire to get in the kitchen and cook? It must have something to do with the weather getting cooler, the kids getting back to routine, and in my case a desire for comfort food after the crisp salads and juicy burgers had over the summer. I’ve been trying out a bunch of new recipes lately – my criteria for a recipe to try is that it has to be easy. Too many ingredients or too much prep work and forgetaboutit.
When I was asked if I’d like to try out the new flavours of McCormick Gourmet Recipe Mixes, with the promise that they really are easy recipes, I was in! I just tried out my first one this past weekend and it was a resounding success!
This delicious one-dish meal came out of the oven looking and smelling delicious! Herbs de Provence Roasted Chicken & Potatoes was so easy to make!
The back of the package calls for the mix itself, white wine, olive oil, chicken, potatoes and carrots. I added mushrooms as well and a little extra white wine, oil, and also some water since I had so many veggies and it came out amazing.
Great flavor, simple ingredients, and no guess work!
The entire selection of new McCormick Gourmet Recipe Mixes includes:
– Bourbon Spiced Pork with Sweet Potatoes & Apples: This mouthwatering one-dish dinner delivers a sweet and savory take on the trend of alcohol-infused flavors.
– Herbes de Provence Roasted Chicken & Potatoes: Fragrant herbs like rosemary, lavender, marjoram and thyme bring a dose of sophistication to this new French-inspired favorite.
– Creamy Parmesan & Sun-Dried Tomato Chicken Penne: The classic Italian combo of marjoram, thyme and oregano brings bold flavor to this effortless dish, which can be on the table in less than 30 minutes.
– Sweet Basil & Oregano Bruschetta Chicken: Take pasta night to the next level by infusing chicken breast and spaghetti with bright hits of aromatic herbs, plum tomatoes and balsamic vinegar.
– Garlic & White Wine Chicken Scaloppine: This flavorful take on chicken and mushrooms, served over a bed of orzo pasta, is elevated with bright hits of lemon, basil and oregano.
– Smoked Sausage & Pepper Creole Jambalaya: The zest of the French Quarter comes to life in this one-skillet New Orleans rice dish, with smoky hints of paprika, bay leaf and black pepper.
I want to try the Bruschetta Chicken one next!
