Yes, what you’re looking at is a stuffed toy that has marker all over it. Instead of freaking out, this mom actually embraces it and congratulated my daughter on a job well done.
You all know me too well to believe I’m a free-spirited mom that allows my children to express themselves in any way they feel (peace, love, and all that crunchiness). Um, no.
Nevaeh, my middle-child, has been a tagger (as we call her!) since she could walk. This is the child that loves coloring on walls, couches, baseboards (hey they’re white, what a canvas!) and even a computer screen. She’s been punished every time it happens but that doesn’t seem to stifle the urge to color, color, color!
It was like serendipity when I was chosen to be a Fisher Price Blogger and the first toy sent to me for Nevaeh (4) was a Fisher Price Doodle Bear. Yes, an actual adorable teddy bear that children can color on to their heart’s content, then wash in the washing machine until the next time the mood strikes! Whoa.
This toy is perfect for my budding artist, and she’s old enough to understand that this toy is ok to color on even if the rest of her toys are not. To be extra sure, I have hidden the special markers for this toy (and pretty much any writing instrument in our household…yes, she’s that um…inspired?)
Nevaeh wasn’t the only child to receive a toy from Fisher Price – Elijah (7) has been having a blast (literally) with The Joker’s Fun House by Imaginext DC Super Friends (yes, Imaginext is a Fisher Price brand!) which is best for ages 3-8 years. This fun house features a giant hammer and firing cannon – yep, perfect for rambunctious little guys!
Everleigh (10m) has a new little buddy in the Laugh & Learn Dance & Play Puppy (ages 6-36m). She has the original Laugh & Learn Love to Play Puppy – actually a hand-me-down from her big brother…yay for the longevity of Fisher Price toys! So, when she saw the Dance & Play Puppy she already had some familiarity with it and loved it on sight. Once the puppy started showing us what he can really do (blow kisses, oh yes!) she was in love
Disclosure: I am a Fisher-Price Mom and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.
Love the bear such a good idea.
Okay, how much do I love your children’s names? Beautiful. 🙂
Our 3 year old daughter also loves her Doodle Bear! Too cute! Love your post! xo
