Live Clean Baby

Does outrageously expensive mean better? We know that isn’t the case, mamas – though sometimes there are products that, without a doubt, are worth paying extra for when they outperform their competitors. After 3 kids and a multitude of products used, one area where I have found a vast range of prices and performance is bath and body products for babies.

We all want our babies to have baby-soft skin that’s free from rashes, eczema and even those annoying little newborn baby pimples that pop up right before picture day. Choosing the products you’re going to use on your little one’s skin is important, but it’s also important not to let fear rule you. Yes, it’s wise to steer clear of unnecessary chemicals and things like petroleum (why oh why would that be needed in baby lotions anyway?)

The slippery slope here is that many moms can get steered in to buying products for your baby’s skin that are hugely overpriced and offer the same benefit as other brands you can find at the drug store. I’m not going to proclaim that there isn’t a place for the more expensive products out there for baby’s skin – after all when my son was a baby he had such ridiculous eczema that I was willing to try it all in the name of helping his flare ups. I just think that, if your baby has normal skin (even with eczema flare ups like my son had, which are really more common than I thought)  you can find some pretty amazing products out there without dipping into his RESP.

If you’re already familiar with Live Clean products for yourself, you’ll be happy to know about Live Clean Baby, a line of eco-friendly baby care products that promises performance with gentle, natural ingredients. Live Clean uses plant-sourced, renewable and sustainable ingredients in their products with no petroleum. More on what Live Clean Baby doesn’t contain. NO sulfates, SLS, DEA, parabens, phthalates or phosophates. I’m not done, Live Clean Baby is also pure vegan and cruelty free. Wow!

A few months ago we were sent the entire collection of Live Clean Baby Soothing Relief products to use with Everleigh (there’s a basic Live Clean Baby collection and Soothing Relief collection). We have been using them all and although I’m really happy with all of them – two favorites among the Live Clean Baby products stand out.

Live Clean Baby Soothing Relief Baby Lotion (1L, $12.99) smells really good and works extra good too! I’m not a fan of natural baby products that all smell the same yet this lotion’s mixture of chamomile and natural colloidal oatmeal is not at all overwhelming and actually smells so good that I’ll use it on my hands after lathering up the baby after her bath.

Live Clean Baby Soothing Relief Non-Petroleum Jelly (12g, $6.99) has been used a lot in our household by my son, daughter, and even my husband on their chapped lips (oh the joy of autumn). Both my kids have that annoying habit of licking their lips and around their lips which results in some very red and tender skin. We use Live Clean Baby Non-Petroleum jelly at night on their lips and skin to help sooth it before bed (and hopefully through the night, unless my daughter licks hers off). Knowing the product is made from safe ingredients, the licking isn’t so much of a concern (though I really wish she’d just stop it altogether, urgh!)

The Soothing Relief Collection from Live Clean Baby would be a great gift to get a new mom during the holidays or any time (baby shower gift basket, anyone?!)  You can purchase Live Clean Baby products here in Canada at London Drugs, Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart and Sobey’s among others.
