My Kodak Printer is Going to Make the Holidays (and 2012) a Breeze!

I tend to shy away from techie reviews. It’s not because I don’t appreciate new products that promise to make my life easier, it’s just that I’m tech-shy and am always intimidated by the learning curve of something new, especially when that something is a product I rely on every day. I need things to simply work.

We were due for a new printer so when I had the opportunity to check out the new Kodak Hero 9.1 All-in-One Printer that promises to be 4 gifts in 1, I was willing to give it a shot, though I worried if I’d end up frustrated and missing my old computer in the end. I am so glad I said yes because I absolutely love my new printer and have been telling friends about it when given the opportunity.

The Kodak Hero 9.1 All-in-One Printer is a printer, scanner, copier and fax machine. My old printer had 3 of the 4 features so you’d think this wouldn’t be a big deal. One element that I haven’t mentioned, that changes everything, is that this printer is wireless! Not only can I print documents and photos from my computer, but also from my smart phone!

Up until now, printing or scanning anything was a pain. The printer was attached to our desktop computer in the basement, which meant that when I wanted to print something I had to first email it to an account on that computer, then negotiate with my 7 year old to use “his” computer, then print the document. Scanning to email something was even worse – scan, email it to myself on my laptop, come upstairs, send email. Ugh.

Now? Life is easy. The Kodak Hero 9.1 All-in-One Printer resides in the corner of our dining room (on top of a Bento storage box!) and this week I was able to print a contract, sign it, scan it onto a SD card, pop the card in my laptop and mail it off all in about 4 minutes! I realize that I could keep this printer anywhere, since it’s wireless, and have debated finding a home for it in our bedroom but my dining room serves as a makeshift office most days so this works out well.

I’m a little print happy – printing things that I normally wouldn’t because it was too much of a process before – because I can do it now with just one click! It’s ok though, because the printer ink for this printer is ridiculously cheap ($9.99 for black and $19.99 for color!)

This printer just makes it so easy, it makes me want to be more organized because it’s such a breeze to get things done. The touch screen is a real perk and again, it just helps make everything that much easier.

I even attempted printing photos at home which is something I’ve never done before. I usually send them online to the store and pick them up eventually when I remember! Now, I’m able to grab a cute shot and print it to add in a card before I mail it without even leaving the house!

I think it’s pretty obvious I’m a big fan of this printer – technology that’s easy to use, technology that makes my life easier, and all from a reliable and trusted brand, Kodak! You can find this printer online at the Kodak.ca store for $249.99 (out of stock the last I looked!) – Kodak also suggests looking at Buy.com Canada where it’s currently listed at $223.99 with $30.75 shipping. Also, of course, check at your favorite store to see if they have it in stock. This is a great gift for the entire household, as it has so many uses from helping the casual shutterbug print photos at home to the at-home professional that wants to scan, print and fax with ease.
