Giveaways and Reviews

No anniversary gifts here.

Our 10 year wedding anniversary came and went, and both my husband and I are without gifts.  It’s not that we don’t celebrate our anniversary but we decided a few years ago (honestly after a few failed attempts at gift giving that cost my husband far too much money) to not exchange gifts for our anniversaries.  A card or flowers, maybe, but no big extravagant gift.  We buy gifts throughout the year for no reason at all (I’m currently looking for a new laptop for him, he insists he’s going to buy the Coach bag I want as I’ve been agonizing over for a week.)

I’ve been browsing mens tungsten rings online, thinking maybe it would be nice to buy my husband a new ring – more of a stylish ring in addition to his wedding band.  The black tungsten rings are particularly nice because they don’t look flashy at all – many guys would choose this ring over an extravagant one any day I’d think.

Things have changed in 10 years – you can even buy tungsten wedding bands, again something that looks less flashy than a shiny diamond covered band but still displays style and class.

Maybe one day I’ll surprise him and buy him a ring again – since our 10 year anniversary passed, maybe I should look up the traditional gifts for anniversaries and see how long I have. 😉

  • We don’t either. We love each other and all, but the same thing for Valentine’s Day – we just figure we get stuff more as we want it as a special thing – a new book comes out, or something… and so don’t feel the need the buy something especially for the annivresary. I do like those rings though!!

  • Same here. We buy stuff for each other throughout the year also. Only a card/flowers at Valentine (sometimes chocolate). I love those rings; very nice 🙂

  • Chris in 10 years has lost 2 wedding bands. The original ring was gold with diamonds. His second was tungsten and his third is tungsten. It looks so sharp on his finger! Much better than the gold. His is the solid black. Very cool!
