I have been posting more recipes lately, and the reader response has been great I have shared a recipe here and there in the past but lately I’ve been making a point to share my favorites with you more often. I’ve come by it honestly – I’ve started reading more cooking blogs, or sometimes just mom blogs that share recipes among the other details of life with children and I’ve come to discover some really great recipes to try. I have so many bookmarked that I don’t know when I’m going to be able to find the time to try them all!
I have my own hand-written cookbook that holds all my favorite recipes – a recipe is usually bookmarked or printed until I get a chance to try it and if it passes, it goes into the cookbook! I don’t have a standard printed cookbook that I can reference when looking for something new…until now.
I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of the..are you ready for it…brand new Betty Crocker Cookbook! It’s actually called “The New Edition of the Big Red Cookbook”. I’ve seen the big red cookbook in so many kitchens over the years, even in movies, and can’t wait to dig in and check out all the recipes inside!
Of course, I’ll be sure to share recipes that I’ve tried, didn’t flub up making, and that have passed the inspection of my family – right here on the blog.

I thought there was soooo many to choose from. Since I love salads, I think I would make The Mexican Macaroni Salad. I hoped to find one on soups since winter is coming but when I saw the salad I thought it looked great.
Just an FYI – I made a resolution this year that I was going to make one new thing from a recipe book once a month. It gets me and my husband trying new things instead of always making the same ole. Same as going out for dinner. When we’re on vacation we always go somewhere we’ve never been before.
