Garage sale season is almost here – on the Canadian prairies they don’t typically start until at least May though I know in warmer climates people are already out hunting for hidden treasures in full force. A few weeks ago I wrote a post about Garage Sales Tracker, only available in the US right now and today I wanted to highlight a few of the sites really cool features that can help you maximize your hunt.
It’s all in the planning people – there’s no sense driving around looking for random garage sale signs. People who find the best deals are out early, with a plan, and hit all the best garage sales before everyone else.
Yes, there’s an App for that! The Garage Sales Tracker iPhone App allows you to use the GPS function on your phone to find other garage sales in the same zip code you’re in and also gives you the ability to contact the seller if they have information listed in their ad, among other features.
The Bookmark Feature allows you to bookmark your picks from the garage sales you’ve viewed on the site so that you have all your favorites listed in one place instead of having to go through the entire list in your area.
Once you have your garage sales bookmarked, you can then use the Trip Planner function to map out your entire garage sale route so that you’re making the most efficient use of your time! Now that’s how you do a garage sale day, people!!
I know this is totally beside the point, but that map shows a REALLY long drive through some pretty boring countryside to get to a sale.
